Isn't the whole idea of the combine to give guys a chance to showcase their skills since there's no real NFL game tape on them?

 

This seems more like an attempt to keep the league relevant during the offseason.

sounds like it, but i can get down with another offseason nfl event. it'll help with people coming off injuries too

I would imagine those are the only players that will attend since they have something to prove.

^{Well the article said that vertrens are free to try out at the combine (the big one in indy) as well.}

 

^{I assume this is just to make the combine not as long, since all the coahces are there just for the rookies, and to give the veterans a chance to be the focus.}

Good chance for the player to up his market interest and avoid multiple seperate workouts for multiple teams.
