Who's the one guy you DON'T want the Giants to draft #1, and why?

I'm not as into college/draft as a lot of you guys are, but the idea of the Giants taking Garrett Boles #1 really scares me.

They had a Utah play-by-play guy on the Giants podcast the other day and let's just say, his review on Boles wasn't glowing. Basically he said he's a work in progress, would need to work a lot on his footwork, and has trouble with speed rushers. Plus he'll be 25 when the season starts. I don't think you take a 25 year old "project" with your number one pick... by the time he's gotten his game together he may only be a few years away from 30.

Plus, the Giants need to win now. Doesn't sound like a good fit.

Who are you guys scared of the Giants taking?

McCaffrey or Cook

Good players, but the Gints dont have the Oline for them at this point.

If Ramcyzk(sp?) is off the board, I'm not a fan of any other OT in round one, Forrest I think is considered the next best and he looks like a Flowers 2.0.

Agree on Bolles he has physicality, but like you said he's a developmental guy and 25 he may not hit his ceiling until 28. It's a bad DT class as well I don't want McDowell or Brantley. Honestly I am not a huge fan of Cunningham either he doesn't give much in terms of pass rush, has missed 34 tackles over his career and I think a lot of the tackle numbers are inflated

Lol speed rushers are what Bolles is best against. Has the best feet of any OL in this draft. Watch his game against Takk McKinley. He dominated him, and McKinley, an NFL ready speed rusher, couldn't get the edge on Bolles.

Bolles is not a developmental guy. He's not going to be All-Pro as a rookie but he'll be pretty good early.

25 years old is a huge red flag. Pick a guy that age in the first round, he damn well better be a near pro bowler on day one, because there isn't time for him to develop much.

Seriously, how is this guy 25 and just now breaking through? Did he fail a bunch of times in school or something?

Shockey and Barber were both drafted by EA lol and you couldnt really call either of them "head cases"

OBJ you may have a point he seems to get into his own head more than the opponent.

Pardon me then, but I expect people who make millions of dollars to just do what they're paid to do.

Did any of them do anything but that?

Barber was the only thing carrying the Gints during his playing years.

Shockey was the best TE we've had in the past 20 years.

And OBJ is the best WR the Gints have ever had.

I know, and I so hated the media talking about it all the time like he was 60% of the offense. fuck, other teams knew that too and NY would still just keep feeding him the ball and losing in the end.

Yeah, OBJ is ....but nothing on the other side will always take away from that. he's still not good enough to take over a game. about the time he is, Eli starts with his shit of turning it over.

From Utah, so Mormon mission perhaps? Those usually last two years. Plus I think he transferred to Utah.
