The Eagles should crush The Vagiants...

I can't wait. ... and don't give me the "At least we have Super Bowls and you don't" crap.

It's old, lame, and through.

If that's the case, you guys wouldn't be complaining about The Vagiants this season.

I'm not giving a shit about Super Bowls while I watch The Vagiants getting stomped by The Eagles... so save that old shit for when the season is over.

This isn't the glory days... there are no comebacks here.

I actually thought The Vagiants would win this division.

What the hell was I thinking?

Maybe they still will.

The Vagiants are desperate to get a win, so they could go into The Linc, in Philly's first home game, with that crowd going nuts, and beat them.

:LMAO:

I doubt it though.

sadly.... I have to agree. These appear to be two teams going opposite directions.

Granted its only been two games, these are almost like preseason games these days given the lack of offseason/preseason work they get, but I think we've seen enough to know what kind of team they are. I know we all said the same thing back in 2007, but that was a once-in-a-lifetime turnaround, that just doesn't happen except in the movies. That team was playing hard, this one looks like they expected teams to roll over for them.

I don't understand what's happening to your team.

They have the talent on both sides of the ball.

Every team had a lack of preseason work, so that can't be an excuse.

Is it coaching?

Is it the o-line?

Is it ego getting in the way?

Is it all of it?

You'd figure with an expensive defense, you'd at least put a competent o-line together.

They took The Shehawks route... "We have an all-pro QB, great WRs... what we have on the o-line should hold up."

no, its not an excuse, its just that every year you see those teams that are shit in week one, sometimes are shit in week two, and then they're a completely different team by the end of the year. But that's strictly academic, I see no reason to think the Giants are one of those teams, as much as I'd like to see it.

There is talent on both sides, but especially up front you're only as good as your weakest player. Hankins is missed, the run D isn't remotely dominant, and the offensive line has more weak links than it does competent players.

It's true that teams look like trash one week and then look like world beaters the next.

But you can tell that at least they play hard and were just beat by a better team or didn't get certain breaks.

I can't put my finger on the problem with The Vagiants.

I think that article I posted a few days ago really nails it. The front office is too stubborn.

Reese thought his draft picks on the O-line would pan out. None did besides maybe Pugh.

Most teams build around an aging QB with a power O-line and running game, and draft/gameplan accordingly. McAdoo thinks he's smarter and knows better and did just the opposite (as did Reese). Horrible decision. Most 38 year old QBs can't huck the ball 40+ times a game for 16 weeks, especially when they're getting killed every third play.

There's no way to right this ship, no quick fix. I predicted we'd go somewhere around 8-8 but we may actually be worse than that by the time January rolls around.

You know what is old, lame, and through? Calling them the Vagiants. Surely someone who is so confident in a 1-1 team can do better than that.

You know what?

You're absolutely right...

maybe I'll start calling them The Gunts or The Gints or The Ginas or The Midgets or just plain old The Vaginas.

Since it bothers you, I'll just keep calling them The Vagiants.

It's either that or The Vaginas... I'll let you choose which one.

Bronx, I like you- (Eagle I mean, not Rik :P )- Just don't slither away should the Giants pull the upset of the century according to you. Please stick around. Don't be an Italian Hotdog.

I'm not that dude... I'll take a whole heaping of crow.

It wouldn't be " the upset of the century" because The Eagles aren't SB contenders... but The Vagiants were hyped up to be.

Shit... The Eagles are still considered to come in 3rd or 4th place in the division.

If anything... The Eagles are the underdogs here.

I have seen the Giants gameplan for the eagles before, and correctly so, by dinking and dunking over the middle - 8 yard slants, short comebackers, they just kept everything in the middle of the field and kept moving forward. Its up to Cox and Jernigan to take away Eli's ability to step up in the pocket to make those throws. If Eli gets his ego in the way and Beckham barks too much to where they start throwing deep, the Eagles D line will get there. Perkins also seems to get some good yards running off tackle to the right against the Eagles, I thought he did last year. Wentz is amazing throwing on the run, especially to his left. He really sees the openings to throw into. Giants would be better off keeping him in the pocket and letting him throw. He seems to have trouble with batted throws at the line of scrimmage. His short throws are too low in trajectory. I know he is only in his second year so I have high hopes for his future. Just hope his coach doesn't get him killed by throwing 75% of the time so far.

With this O-line, Whistler's Mother could take away Eli's ability to step up in the pocket.

Still think we win this one though. The Homer in me won't allow otherwise.

Whazzup, OEF...

You're right about Carson.

I also think he's throwing too much and has to do a better job with his short throw trajectory.

Too many damn batted balls at the line of scrimmage.

They have Blount... FUCKING USE HIM!

The Giants fans holding onto the Lombardi's of the past, calling the Eagles the E-girls are about as original as the Vagiants comments from Eagles fans. It's all in good fun, I get it...but let's not pretend both sides are original in their trash talk.

I think the Eagles are vastly improved over last year where the Giants maintained the status quo (at best). I don't foresee the Eagles having any problem creating pressure on Eli. Unless the Giants play the whole game on 3-step drops and are actually able to generate some level of a running game...it's going to be the same thing as the first two weeks. But that's just it, Brandon Marshall is not getting separation and Shepard is not finding the empty spaces in the underneath stuff. I'm guessing that's because the underneath is crowded as fuck given there's no threat over the top. And there's not going to be any over the top stuff because (1) there's no time for that and (2) there's no players currently able to do that with Beckham dinged and Engram being a rookie.

It's early in the week and this may change, but I've got Eagles 27, Giants 13

well.... I don't think its necessarily true that Marshall isn't getting open. He's had some opportunities that he blew, and he's had other times he was open and there just wasn't time to get the ball downfield (or Eli was too spooked to hold for a longer developing route).

So.... reason for optimism at least. Its not like a Cruz situation where Marshall just doesn't have the stride to separate anymore.
