BlueInCanada
Been reading that the Giants might be interested in another kid in the Supplemental draft coming up on the 10th. Safety Jalen Thompson. From what I read would of been regraded as one of the best safety prospects in 2020 but failed his year of eligibility in college. Unlike Beal, Thompson has started every single game in his college career and was a ball-hawk type of safety, something the Giants sorely lack. He also has experience playing as a nickle/slot corner and inside the box. Honestly if he can be grabbed for a third I would sit him behind Bethea for a year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=KX_ogZEFtNk MeasurablesHeight: 6-footWeight: 195 pounds40 Time: 4.57 seconds *unofficial Pros Very quick mental processor. Good short-area quickness. Flashes solid tackling skills. Has the ability to cover short areas near the line of scrimmage. Solid ball skills and has solid production over three years (190 tackles, 11.0 for a loss, 6 interceptions, 17 passes defensed) Durable player and a reliable starter. Cons Foot quickness is a question. Doesn’t appear to have great speed. Might struggle with man coverage against NFL receivers. Rarely asked to blitz (no sacks in three years)
Sephiroth
All reports say Beal has looked awesome so far. Hope it translates to the field.

Yep lots of reports about the corner group looking really good so far. Gratned they are mostly all rookies and havent played a snap of NFL football yet but if one or two of the guys develope into starters then you cant complain. JayD
Yeah you gotta be excited about this group of kids coming in for the secondary. I hate watching the growing pains of corners and safeties though. Glad we have a somewhat good mix of rooks and vets.
Tempest
He certainly sounds like the kind of player the Giants would reach for in the third round which I think it will cost to land him.
Nas
Arizona drafted him in the 5th round. https://www.nj.com/eagles/2019/07/nfl-supplemental-draft-2019-washington-states-jalen-thompson-selected-by-cardinals-in-round-5.html
BronxRik
I thought the Giants made their supplemental pick at #6 on draft day?

BlueInCanada
Some rumours are that the Giants wanted to get this kid, but since the Cardinals picked before the Giants, they would have to out bid them, so offer something higher than a fifth. If the Giants wanted him, he'd be a Giant. Gettleman has to be feeling pretty good about the defensive backfield as is right now.
