Mr. P
Of the 90 players that report to Giants training camp on Monday, only 53 will be left standing in five-plus weeks. It's up to coach Tom Coughlin, general manager Jerry Reese and their staffs on how the 53 will be dispersed. There will be plenty of options. We each have different ideas ourselves. Before they ever take the field for a training camp practice, here's how we each see it unfolding. We'll do this again before the final cuts and compare our predictions with the actual final 53-man roster on August 30. Quarterbacks Jordan: Eli Manning, Ryan Nassib Conor: Eli Manning, Ryan Nassib, Curtis Painter Analysis: Conor has the Giants carrying three QBs once again. Jordan thinks it's Nassib or bust. Running Backs JR: Rashad Jennings, David Wilson, Andre Williams CO: Rashad Jennings, David Wilson, Andre Williams, Michael Cox Analysis: Conor with the surprise pick of Cox. Don't sleep on him. Peyton Hillis left off both lists. Fullback JR: Henry Hynoski CO: Henry Hynoski Analysis: Finally some agreement. John Conner misses out. Wide Receivers JR: Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Odell Beckham Jr., Jerrel Jernigan, Marcus Harris, Trindon Holliday CO: Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham, Rueben Randle, Jerrel Jernigan, Trindon Holliday Analysis: Holliday sneaks onto the back of both rosters. Jordan surprises with Harris as well and predicts the Giants go heavy at WR. Tight Ends JR: Adrien Robinson, Kellen Davis, Daniel Fells, Xavier Grimble CO: Adrien Robinson, Larry Donnell, Kellen Davis Analysis: Conor sees Fells and Grimble failing to make team. Jordan predicts Donnell as the odd-man out. Offensive Line JR: Will Beatty, Geoff Schwartz, J.D. Walton, Weston Richburg, Brandon Mosley, Justin Pugh, John Jerry, Charles Brown, Eric Herman CO: Will Beatty, Brandon Mosley, J.D. Walton, Geoff Schwartz, Justin Pugh, Weston Richburg, John Jerry, Charles Brown Analysis: Conor only has eight O-linemen. Jordan has the same eight plus Herman. Defensive Tackle JR: Cullen Jenkins, Johnathan Hankins, Marcus Kuhn, Jay Bromley, Kelcey Quarles CO: Mike Patterson, Cullen Jenkins, Markus Kuhn, Johnathan Hankins, Jay Bromley Analysis: Bother rosters go heavy at defensive tackle. Jordan just subs Quarles for Patterson. Defensive End JR: Jason Pierre-Paul, Mathias Kiwanuka, Robert Ayers, Damontre Moore CO: Damontre Moore, Jason Pierre-Paul, Mathias Kiwanuka, Robert Ayers Analysis: Only four defensive ends. Same four defensive ends. Linebacker JR: Jon Beason, Jameel McClain, Jacquian Williams, Spencer Paysinger, Mark Herzlich, Devon Kennard CO: Jon Beason, Mark Herzlich, Devon Kennard, Jameel McClain, Spencer Paysinger, Jacquian Williams Analysis: Both rosters have six LBs, including special teams ace Herzlich. Cornerback JR: Prince Amukamara, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Walter Thurmond, Zack Bowman, Trumaine McBride CO: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Prince Amukamara, Walter Thurmond, Bennett Jackson, Zack Bowman, Trumaine McBride Analysis: Conor has rookie sixth-round pick Bennett Jackson on the final 53. Jordan thinks he's destined for the practice squad. Safety JR: Antrel Rolle, Stevie Brown, Quintin Demps, Nat Berhe, Cooper Taylor CO: Nat Berhe, Antrel Rolle, Cooper Taylor, Stevie Brown, Quintin Demps Analysis: Five safeties is a lot of safeties. Both still see it that way. Punter JR: Steve Weatherford CO: Steve Weatherford Kicker JR: Josh Brown CO: Josh Brown Long Snapper JR: Zak DeOssie CO: Zak DeOssie http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2014/07/giants_training_camp_pre-camp_53-man_roster_predictions.html
BlueInCanada
Although I agree with the 53 man, couldnt they have formatted the article better, was a pain to read and compare.
