Whole team is terrible

Barkley is trying to do too much. Needs to take the 3 yard gain and be decisive instead of bouncing outside and dancing for a loss every play.

There is no three yard gain though.

Did you see the blocking this game?

He might as well have just kneeled down when he got the ball.

Sometimes I wonder what are record would be if the defense didn't spot the opponent 14 points at the start of every game and Jones didn't spot another 7.

As much as we shit on Shurmurs playcalling it has to be hard when your entire game plan is thrown out the window 8 minutes into the first quarter because you are behind multiple scores.

What could he have done there? Barkley lost the game on that play by getting bitched slapped by a safety. Not Jones.

Jamal Adams does that often and after today, hopes he stays on the Jets over ending up on the Cowboys.

One of the best individual plays Ive ever seen by a defensive player. Sometimes the other team just makes the plays needed to win the game.

Shurmur is constantly putting the players in a BAD BAD Situation to make a play. Barkley is being asked to block 280-300 pound defenders repeatedly. It takes 3 months and 22 days for a screen to develop. When the line did give DJ time he was able to make a play, or otherwise no one got open and DJ got sacked the shit out of him.

Shurmur's coaching by simplying the game plan etc is falling flat and I dont think he is an intelligent coach. His game performance is wanting - any coach worth his salt can outcoach Shurmur. And the defense has given 30 plus points to every team theyve faced except the Redskins. You look at DJ's stats - accounting for 4 TDs in 3 games this year and you cant fathom the record being 2-7 - 1 lucky win against Tampa and a 1 against a fuckall Redskins team.

The team needs a coaching overhaul. Barkley looks defeated - he doesnt have that same body language - its almost like he knows this season is done for and he doesnt want to put his body through too much.

Indeed. But IMO, not as much as a talented inside linebacker.

The way this DL is constructed, it's predicated on having inside linebackers that are talented and versitile. Buchanon has lost too many steps. Ogletree has never been quite good enough. Mayo is a good backup. Connelly I think is one, but still need another.

As thin as this team is at too many different positions, we're in prime trade back territory.

I'm growing more confused on why we traded picks for Williams. The worse the team gets, the better that draft capital looks.

I feel Young could rush the passer from an outside LB role.

Not to mention I think bettcher gets thrown under the bus this year and we are looking at new defense next year could even be a 4-3 base.

I think there are too many impact players in the top 5 to trade back unless we are sitting at pick #2 and the Dolphins or Bengals pass on Tua and we could get a king's ransom from a team.

If we end up with #1 overall it would be foolish to not trade down to #3 or #4 to acquire extra picks. Another first, third, etc. Think of what we gave up for Eli.

We don't need a QB and with five projected first-rounders, we could get a kings ransom.

I'd love to see a top-flight LT, pass rusher, and for Christ's sakes can we PLEASE get an NFL-caliber MLB that's an actual difference-maker and QB of the defense?

Yeah if we end up in a position where a QB needy team needs to trade up a few sports do it.

But if we are sitting at 4 or 5 those QBs are likely gone and the Giants will have the pick if best player in the draft, which is something they sorely need.

That Williams trade is looking even worse now.

Especially if you consider the possibility of another rebuild with a new HC/DC/OC in the next couple of seasons.
