Sephiroth
Kaepernick signs 126 million dollar contract. It'll be really interesting to see how they do the next 2-3 years now that they have to pay their quarterback more than 600K per season.

Plus there are rumblings about Harbaugh...he may pull a Parcells without the ring...i.e. jump ship to another team.

BlueInCanada
From my understanding of the contract they are still getting him for peanuts compared to guys like both Mannings, Brees. I imagine Alex Smith is going to have more of a cap impact then Kap will. Good contract by the 49ers. Wish Eli would of signed one like this. Sephiroth
The Niners draft well and this deal isn't bad at all. That's true. But when your QB goes from making 2 mil a year to 20, it has an impact... you can't just go out there and sign the Justin Smiths of the world anymore. Not saying it'll break them, but its going to be interesting. Seattle will be facing the same thing with Dick Sherman and Russel Wilson.
Herc
the money is guaranteed year by year so they can cut him any offseason they want without a lot of dead money hurting them. it's a great contract for them and it's way less risky than the other top qb contracts. still, if they choose to keep him they'll have their share of tough decisions the next few years. they got a small cap number from him this year (3+ mil) but he's at 17 mil next year and crabtree, iupati and to a lesser extent gore have contracts coming up after this season

BlueInCanada
I think his contract might be used as an example for future big contracts across the NFL, I wouldnt be surprised if teams start pushing for them and agents are going to start regretting this deal. The fact that he is only going to get 13 million of the 126 million and it's all based on his level of play is genius. I hope more teams out there start doing this.
