BleedinBlue
Yankees take on Kerry Wood's contract and Cleveland throws in 2 million. If he's healthy, it's a nice addition to throw into the reliever mix. He's so fragile though. I guess we'll have to wait and see. If Mariano could teach him his cutter....wow! BleedinBlue
Woods has a nasty pitching repetoire and a wicked fastball. He will only be used in the 8th inning or as a quick stop to a rally. His injury was a blister on his pitching hand. All things considered, he's an upgrade in the bullpen and came really cheap (by baseball standards) and I'll take him over a healthy Chin Ho Park anyday. Ditto
I agree with you about Park. I only wish Melincon and Albaladejo were given the same chances this year, especially Albaladejo. But about Mo teaching anyone the cutter, forget it. His strength is he puts it where he wants it, and he can't teach that.
MakeMeSomeFoodHo
Wood sucks, so does Park. I guess Wood has the chance to be better than park...but I wouldnt get my hopes up. He's been pretty bad for a while now...not to mention fragile. they didnt give anything up so it was basically, park for wood. they both suck, guess cash is hoping wood will suck less. BullsOnParade
also maybe cash thought this would light a fire under joba , get him a little nervous about being relegated to the 6th and 7th innings.

Mel and Aby have been given chances over the past two years and everytime they get into a pressure situation they blow up. The same way Shelly Duncan was a AAAA batter those two were AAAA pitchers. He pitched well the last time up, and it was a kind of shocker to see him sent back down, especially with Mitre and Gaudin hanging around. Melancon? Who knows? Good stuff and no confidence. also maybe cash thought this would light a fire under joba , get him a little nervous about being relegated to the 6th and 7th innings. The last thing you need is to light a fire under Joba's ass. He needs to calm the fuck down.
