So 0 and 2.

The "point of no return" next week, if a team goes 0-3 it's statistically impossible/improbable they make the playoffs.

So let's look at this game and see how the Giants maybe squeek out a win against the Bucs (LOL probably not)

The good;

Oline is obviously much improved after these past two games, and they actually get push in the run game.

Barkley another good game, kid is a MVP, hope the Giants lock him up for 8 years before he realizes he can go somewhere else and win.

We are one game closer to seeing Jones start.

TJ Jones and Cody Core could shake up the WRs, both looked like they can catch the ball and have some speed.

The meh;

Got some pass rush finally with Oshane/Golden, but no where near enough to compete.

LBs still look serviceable, Connolly(sp?) got his welcome to the NFL moment today, but still looks like he will be good once he gets some more experience.

Special teams isnt trash.

The bad;

I might as well just make this a sticky but the secondary, every single one of them.

  • Jenkins - old and washed up.
  • Baker/Bellantine/Love - rookies and they look like it.
  • Peppers - fucking sucks and the Browns are laughing they traded a trash player for OBJ.
  • Bethea - old and washed up.

Eli missed a ton of fucking throws and isnt a winning QB anymore, sorry to say, but he's the meat puppet preventing Jones from getting a bad case of the David Carr issues.

The play calling, still fucking head scratching at times, both on Shurmur and Bettcher.

Sheppard and Latimore are both garbage.

Shurmur still refuses to make Engram a part of this teams core offence.

How to beat the Bucs

Going to have to blitz the fuck out of Winston and make him revert to his shitty self, otherwise Evans and the Bucs WRs are going to go crazy.

Their defence isnt anything to write home about and is injured at this moment, hopefully the good Shepard is back.

Eli doesn't have 257 tipped passes.

Barkley/Engram are a focus of the offence.

So no I don't think we win against the Bucs.

My biggest issue right now is the playcalling. In a game where you're two scores away for most of it there is no reason why you don't feed the ball to the best running back in the league. Eli threw 45 times today... Barkley had 18 runs. Our 38 year old QB is going to have a noodle arm by November if we keep this up.

Gettleman built this team to pound the rock but Shurmur didn't seem to get the memo.

Aside from that, I was encouraged by the play of the defense in the second half. We're a year away but not giving up on the future yet.

It is really hard to run the ball effectively when you cannot pass. Giants must pass the ball and efficiently. Only way you see Barkley getting 20+ carries is if the Giants are leading which hasn't happened outside of the first 10 minutes in the first quarter. I haven't crunched the numbers yet as far as personnel packages on offense, but with so many wide receivers out, time to put more tight ends on the field.

Oh also Eli has a chance to go into the negative in career W/Ls.

He's current 116-116.

Its not about a chance - its about a 100% certainty. Its not all on him unfortunately - he has just STFU while everything crumbled around him while he was crumbling as well. This is when the team needed to put more weapons, brains and smartness around an aging QB who has been taking a plethora of sacks the last few years behind a shit OL. Oh well - Shurmur is gonna generate another David Carr with this sort of playcalling and talent around Danny Dimes

Oh I'm not blaming Eli solely on him it's a team sport.

Still these last 7 seasons havent been good to Eli.

After the SB win in 2011 Eli was up there in terms of wins by a QB in the NFL.

Now he's about to/going to go negative.

the issue with David Carr was 70 sacks a season. They had good offensive skill talent around him some of those years. Remember Andre Johnson? Dude was a monster.
