Odell: Enough With The Net!

I love you but can this routine please be over now? Can you please just catch TDs, do whatever you want in the end zone (the triple jump was a nice touch!), celebrate with your teammates and get ready for the next series? Why does there always have to be a mini-drama to act out? Besides, I gotta tell you - it's kind of stupid and juvenile and it's gotten old real quick. Please, move on.

First time was hilarious, and a perfect self-aware response to all the ridiculous criticism that had been surrounding him. Yesterday's antics were just running the joke into the ground.

Exactly.

I fucking love it.

As long as he keeps doing it after every TD I want to see more of it.

This place is slowly turning into Debby Downer HQ.

Agreed. The media decided to make a huge deal out of his hitting the net, so he's now trolling them with it.

They were playing some clips on the radio this morning of him being interviewed post game about the stupid net and he proposed to it or some bullshit... Im waiting for someone to make a domestic violence complaint because he hit the net first

And in so doing, he keeps the "Diva" story alive. He must have Trump's advisers (whoops, wrong section!!).

I really dont care what the media thinks of him.

He's the best WR in the NFL atm and the Giants have never and probably never will have another player like him.

Correct. But wouldn't it be nice if the best receiver in the NFL also carried himself better? Look I have no problem with whatever he's doing... He's 23 for fuck's sake... but as a fan, I want my team to be as classy as it can be....

I really don't care, one way or the other.

As long as he isnt beating hookers or killing people.

I never understood the "classy" thing.

Maybe it works for some but not for others... I think when keeping your head in the game and not in any other antics, you perform a whole lot better... And ODB has shown (as with human nature), than when distracted, he can drop balls when it matters most.... there's something to be said about making a great play and focusing on the next play etc.

As far as the classy thing; I always refer people to two Sanders... one is named Barry and the other is Deon... one was a class act and respected by everyone... hands down. The other is a loudmouth jerk..

That's because you're Canadian.

It's ok though, you're forgiven.

Of all the things to complain about at this point of the season you have focused in on the kickers net?

He puts in 100% effort out there, will not fault him for a little fun on the sideline that I think breaks the tension for him and everyone else.

Breaking the tension was the point of watching Step Brothers.

To have a career after football, you can't just be a great player. You have to also be an asshole. Just look at Randy Moss vs Reggie Wayne. Just watch Deion Sanders, or Michael Irvin, or Warren Sapp. Shit, how many shows has Dick Sherman been on since he totally lost his shit on the playoffs?

Odell is being smart.

What about the kicking net thing makes him an asshole? Its fucking dorky.

You don't have to be an asshole to have a post-football career, you just need to have a big personality and name recognition. (Michael Strahan, for example).

He had an amazing 5th gear. I don't think I've seen anyone quite like him before...

For me, what stands out about Beckham is his field vision. Route running too, of course. But after the catch, its a thing of beauty to watch him set up defenders, and do it so well he often doesn't even need to break tackles or juke them.

Most of the time, when I'm watching from the comfort of my couch, I feel like I can draw a line on the TV screen through the D that is better than what the player is seeing.... but not with Beckham. He sees shit I don't.

Seriously, he's playing off the attention from the media, he didn't start that. You want to be concerned, be concerned about his getting over excited and giving up stupid penalties. I'll take him fucking the net up the ass, then taking his helmet off for 15 yards or taking shots at guys after the play is dead.
