Giants suspend DRC

Grab your popcorn and tickets for the train wreck. It's going to get messy.

DRC and Macadoo apparently got onto it on the sidelines Sunday. Mac talked to him yesterday and here is where it gets messy. Mac's account says DRC left and was suspended for leaving. Landon Collins says DRC left because he was informed he was suspended (which he'd have to do if he was, you know, suspended). After all the busses Mac threw his players under so far to avoid accountability, I'm inclined to believe the all-pro safety. Mac is a classless douche.

McAdouche never misses the opportunity to throw a player under the bus, huh?

It's about to get real ugly.

Yeah he's classless and has taken zero accountability. I'm guessing he has lost the players entirely. You could see it after the 0-2 start.

Now you have players like Apple saying they aren't even entirely sure of their role with the team, OBJ saying the offense is exposed and teams know what they're doing before they do it, etc.

Ownership is probably already embarrassed by the empty seats in October. Now they can get embarrassed on national tv Sunday night as we get demolished and the announcers talk about the players fighting with mcadoo. Total blessing

I don't know if McAdoo has lost the team yet but sure does look like it is heading in that direction.

The irony of the New York Giants season turning out the way many predicted the New York Jets season would. Especially after Justin Pugh made that comment about the Jets merchandise sitting on shelves.

At this point I'm just watching the Giants to see what they do without wide receivers and a running game. It has been a tough year so far for Eli Manning, he might not make it through the season at this pace.

Maybe it's time for a fire sale. DRC is set to be a free agent... shop him for a 4th to a contender?

Too bad, he's been a really good player for us. Way better than advertised.

Very few teams are gonna trade for a guy on the last year of his contract, and a 31 year older on his last year of his contract as that.

Yeah, I read an article that said due to tv contracts, the Giants/Broncos game can NOT be flexed out of the Sunday night spot. So yeah, we're stuck in prime time and we're in full-blown crisis mode.

Lack of healthy WRs

Lack of O Line

Defense can't stop anyone when it counts

Guys getting suspended - other players talking about it

Coach's game plan being questioned - and figured out by opposing defenses

Aging QB

0-5, soon to be 0-7

At some point, you just have to laugh at the perfect storm of bullshit this team is dealing with. And I seriously hope that the owners don't just look at it and figure it's some anomaly that won't happen again. A lot of this was fixable and Reese/McAdoo failed in a big, big way.

Now that the playoff pressure is all but gone they should fix some things. Someone can teach McAdoo about those crazy 2 and 3 TE formations. Poor guy has his TE's lined up at WR and running their plays thinks it'll work. We have nobody to pass to so how about learning how to run block? Defense will have plenty of tackling opportunities because it has been sloppy.

Exactly. You'd need to find somebody desperate that also thinks they're just one piece away or has a slew of injuries at CB. Not likely I admit.

In McAdoo's defense, isn't this kind of stuff why DRC has never stuck with a team? Billion dollar talent, ten cent head was always the book on him.

I dunno man. Putting two and two together...

1. DRC has pulled none of that stuff since he's been here. If anything, he's played hurt and still played very well in just about every single game.

2. DRC was demoted to slot corner in favor of a rookie last season and said nothing despite being a better player.

3. When said former rookie was benched this past game, MacAdoo started that guy we signed from Pittsburgh instead of DRC.

I honestly can't blame him for being pissed. He's arguably the best corner on the team and they're not giving him the opportunities in a contract year to help the team.

Apple would get burned even worse inside. It's a testament to drc's skills that he got moved into the slot. Nickel is basically everyone's base defense these days anyway so all three are more or less starters.

I will say I was a bit confused as DRC has been playing in the slot for at least the 2016 season and the start of this season. Not sure what sparked his displeasure but I'm inclined to believe it's partly due Apples struggles. DRC would probably be doing better out there, even if he is more of a cover guy and less physical. Apple is pretty trash this year.

We still don't know enough to make a conclusion as to who is at fault. Usually there is plenty of blame to go around.

oh sure we do. DRC is paid to play. Dude walked out on the team on Friday, and again on Sunday. He's been paid what, $25, $30 million dollars already?... and then he walks out? I don't care what was said.... doesn't matter... there's virtually nothing that a coach could have said or done that would excuse walking off the job.

We don't know enough to know if McAdoo or others are ALSO at fault.... but as for being an unprofessional douche, that's entirely on DRC.

I saw him flat out quit on a few plays earlier this season too... just an ugly, ugly lack of effort... I figured it was injury related... that he was a good soldier who was only on the field because there was nobody else... but.... now I'm not so sure.

1. True to this point, and... also true, at least until this year. But, as I said earlier, and have observed in the game threads as well, DRC is quitting on plays. This past week wasn't the first time he's quit on the team this year. He's done it on the field. (Which I had kind of given him a pass on because he HAD been so good previously).

2. He was still the starter last season. He moved inside when Apple came on the field, but that wasn't a demotion.

3. Right, because DRC had walked out on the team earlier in the week.

The more I read about this, it sounds like McAdoo is doing what we'd expect any head coach to do. A guy walks out of a team session during the week, he gets benched during the game. What else would we have him do? This is more or less exactly what Coughlin did under similar circumstances with Plaxico.

I agree DRC didn't handle this professionally for a guy who has been on the roster for years without incident until this week is noteworthy. Player quits and I think of Corey Webster who was out for weeks. Seen a lot of DRC hobbling around and playing safety while we're losing games so he isn't quitting. There is more going on than the second hand stories going back to last week.
