A guy to keep an eye on.

Rangers minor league infielder Joey Gallo has ridiculous power. He hit 40 in Hickory last year (led the minors), and is off to a great start this year. I kind wrote him off as someone who would never play every day in the majors because he stuck out 170+ times last year in 111 games. So far this year the strike out are still there, but his rate is way down and his walk rate is up. If he can continue to improve that, he can put up some really impressive numbers.

i think be trading is what sparked davis. Organizations seem like they only want to devlop the player to how they want it and dont look at how he should progress.

Whats up with your Pitchers VG there going down like flys

Looks like the NY Giants training staff has taken over in Arlington. Everyone is going down. Now Fielder is hurt and looks like it goes back in to last year. So eaither he didn't tell Detroit or Detroit didn't tell us. They say there was no physical done on Fielder before the trade, how is that possible? A 30 year old heavy guy who had his worst year as a professional last year? No physical? Really?

No idea whats up. Not to mention Beltre, Darvish, and Choo have already been injured and came back. Rough year. Gonna be a long summer.

Now Prince is "seriously considering" season ending surgery. This season has been comical.

And there are Rangers fans wanting us to trade two of our best prospects, Oror and Luke Jackson, for the Cubs' Smardja. Like a number 2 is going to get us anywhere at this point. Plus, I'm tired of the Cubbies raking us over the coals in trades.

speaking of prospects and the cubs i've had javier baez stashed on my bench all season for a dollar. SS who hit 37 homeruns last year and has off the charts bat speed. i feel like it's 1998 all over again

2014 MLB.com Top Prospects: Joey Gallo might have more raw power than anyone, leading the Minor Leagues with 40 home runs in 111 games

The move to Double-A hasn't done much to subdue Joey Gallo's immense power, as he showed once again Saturday night.

The Rangers' No. 4 prospect hit his 27th home run of the season, sending the Frisco RoughRiders to a 3-0 win over the Corpus Christi Hooks. The 20-year-old slugger's three-run shot, his second dinger in as many nights, also gave him a four-game hitting streak.

Gallo's 27 homers between Class A Myrtle Beach and Frisco lead not only the Minor Leagues, but all of professional baseball. Orioles slugger Nelson Cruz leads the Majors with 23 homers.

Gallo's power is hardly a question, however, as he hit 40 homers in 111 games in the Minors last year. But the rest of his numbers are up across the board, too.

Gallo, ranked No. 78 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, has hit six of those 27 homers in 12 games with the RoughRiders, to go along with a .279/.404/.721 batting line and 14 RBIs. He hit .323/.463/.735 with 21 homers and 50 RBIs in 58 games for Myrtle Beach before his promotion.
