Giants sign RW McQuarters

His experience and versatility are his greatest assets. McQuarters or R-dub whichever you go by had a pretty decent season last year. We signed him to a fair contract. So far we have had a pretty good start to improving a poor secondary. Madison and McQuaters give us two players with starting NFL experience. R-Dub was actually among the team leaders in tackles as well as helping Detriot rank 9th vs the pass.

Decent signing. I like him as a return man...yes Morton is more sure handed, but I'm over Morton. He's nothing but average, that's why he bounces around every year. RW is a good guy to bring in and compete for a job. Push everybody. I don't see him winning a starting spot if Will Pete gets back, but if nothing else he adds some nice depth back there.

wait, i was under the impression R.W. was a starter last year...? Why would he be dime here...? We have a shitty secondary...

Because we have Madison and EA has said that he wants to continue to have Deloatch and Webster get a good amount of playing time.

yah but why slate a second year player as starting CB before you have a chance to evaluate his progress? that makes no sense at all. Nothing says you have to start a player because he was a second round pick...I dont get EA's 'logic' either, especially sicne Deloatch sucks donkey dick. When you have better veteran players on a team that is built to win now, you need to start them. Depending on Will Peterson's condition our starters at this point should be Will Peterson and Sam Madison with RW at nickel and Webster at dime. Deloatch shouldnt even be in the NFL.

Deloatch must have some sort of potential if EA continues to insist on him getting more playing time. And if Will P does return back at full health and appears motivated and as good as ever, keep him and put him at #2. However, RW is an average CB at best. With Webster, he played at a borderline average level except we know that he has potential. RW on the other hand really hasn't done much while playing CB lately.

I guess this means the reported 4 year deal with Morton fell through.

Why don't we keep Morton as 3rd option RB or see if the guy can be a 3rd reciever, all I know is we need to get rid of Ponder and Carter, give Taylor 1 more year to prove himself... I like Ponder, but there's no reason to have him fill a roster spot if they don't plan on playing the guy

no offense man, but last time I checked EA was a general manager. I'm guessing he really doesnt attend many practices either. With that being said, how can EA believe this when he saw him in games get burnt left and right to the point where Tom Coughlin signed Terrell Buckley and put in Corey Webster to replace him...

Buckley didn't replace him. I think Webster played as second CB and Buckley nickel but the way our defense is designed compared to the panthers, Buckley was lined up against Smith.

And it turns out Corey gradually did improve down the stretch, starting with the Seahawks game on that 40 yard TD pass to Jurevicious. He was in excellent position on that play and started to improve from there on to the end of the season. The Chiefs game was his best IMO.

Deloatch does have potential. A lot of it. He's a lock to be on the roster next year.

that is definitely true...i have to grudgingly admit that...he downright sucked at times though.
