Dude, what did Jones ever do to you?

Damn, is it me? Or is everyone taking shot at this kid. Obviously I think people were surprised, even upset that the Giants took Jones at 6th overall. I mean, I get it. But thats not his fault. Now Baker Mayfield is taking shots at him?

Im sorry, is there something going on? Why all the hate?

Is this the beginning of a Giants Cleveland rivalry????

This was the beginning....but it would be excellent if it came back.

Sam Huff vs Jim Brown practically invented NFL TV.

Thanks for the context on Mayfield's comment....that makes a lot more sense.

Mayfield clarified on his Insta later that his words were taken out of context - he had even talked about how he was surprised the Browns picked him No.1. The fucking media just spins it the way they want to. He wishes nothing but the best for Daniel :)

Ok but his actual words were something along the lines of being surprised they took Jones 6th and said the thing people need to consider when drafting QBs is their ability, or past history, of being able to win games. He can spin that any way he wants but it was unnecessary and its still a bad look regardless of him taking the tired excuse that the media did it to him.

I highly recommend for people to readTom Landry autobiography. He paints a great picture of the Giants vs Browns, Jim Brown vs Sam Huff battles.

I have read it! My grandpa was a big Giants fan, and just as big a Tom Landry fan.

Laundry was so incredibly innovative. On defense no coach has created as many successful schemes and practices as him.

He had Huff Iso on Brown before anyone thought to do it....and he was a DB player/coach when he came up with it.

I remember my old man would watch the Cowboy's slap the Giants around in the 70s and just be enraged they let him...and Lombardi get away. Throwing shit at the TV mad.

I always wondered when watching documentaries about the Giants just how crazy a franchise this would of been if like you said those two guys stayed in blue.

I think it would have made your old man even more upset to find out it was the Giants ownerships who recommend for Tom to coach the Cowboys. They thought it would be good for the game.

And people wonder I love this organization?

Guess Mayfield called Jones and said that his comments were blown out of proportion by the article.

Guy might be a drunk but atleast he called Jones.

Solid move.

Hope he enjoys throwing 5 yard slants to OBJ and having him turn them into 60+ yard TDs.

Wish Eli still could do that.

Well right now Baker is 2-3 while completing 56% of his passes with 4 TD's and 8 INT.... Odell having caught one of those.

Odell has two drops and an inexplicable fumble in a punt return last night, too. They just looked god awful.

I felt really bad for Odell last night... he's not feeling Cleveland and all the time I thought he was part of the package that brought us Zeitler... but to find out we could have kept him and still got Zietler, it's really upsetting on so many levels... It would be great if we can get him back...

when did we find that out? They said after the Beckham deal that the Beckham and Vernon for Zeitler trades were negotiated as one deal, but announced and registered with the league separately.

Either Drizz or BIC stated that.. I can't recall.

That's the thing though.

The Zeilter and Vernon trade was on the books with the NFL before/along with the Odell trade.

I've never read a single article about how the Odell trade needed to happen for the Zeilter trade.

It's just speculation and rumours about them being packaged together, or either trade being the reason for the other.
