Drunken Daneyko at it again.

Falling off the wagon again huh Kenny?

I actually met Ken Daneyko after the Devils lost to the Avs in the Finals, he was at the Bada-Bing (Satin Dolls in North Jersey) getting his drink on while failing miserably at an attempt to cheat on his wife with several of the girls that work there. I introduced myself & we sat & shared a few beers, later when I went to leave he invited me to go to Joey's in Clifton with him & some skanks. I figured, what the hell, this drunken clown is buying so we went, had a good time at his expense, he had to have someone else drive his white Benz home for him that night because he was so loaded he couldn't even stand up straight. Seemed like a pretty decent guy, with the exception of the falling over drunk & cheating on his wife part. I did find it kind of ironic how he thanked his wife in his jersey retirement speech for standing by him through his personal troubles with alcohol, and yet he sleeps around on her anyway & continues to get loaded nightly.

SPARTA, N.J. (AP) -- Former New Jersey Devils defenseman Ken Daneyko will face drunken driving charges next month, stemming from a May 20 arrest in this Sussex County town.

Daneyko, 42, of Mendham, appeared in Sparta Township municipal court Monday to face charges of driving while intoxicated, careless driving and failure to maintain lane. The case was not settled and Daneyko is scheduled to appear again before Judge John E. Mulhern on Aug. 7, township Prosecutor Andrew Fraser said.

If convicted, Daneyko would face a fine of up to $400 and would also be required to take an educational class on drinking and driving. He also could lose his license for between three months and a year, depending on the level of alcohol in his system at the time of his arrest, Fraser said.

Ralph Fava, a Hawthorne-based attorney, is representing Daneyko. Ron Fava, Ralph's brother and partner, said Wednesday that the firm would not comment on the case.

Sparta Township Patrolman Marc Rubino stopped Daneyko just after midnight after observing his Toyota Land Cruiser being driven erratically on Green Road, Fraser said.

Sparta police did not release details on Daneyko's arrest until a request from The New Jersey Herald of Newton on Tuesday.

Daneyko played all 20 of his NHL seasons with the Devils, winning Stanley Cups in 1995, 2000 and 2003. He played in a team-record 1,283 regular-season games.

The Devils retired his No. 3 jersey on March 24, a little more than a month after retiring the jersey of fellow defenseman Scott Stevens.
