fringe
if frank thomas plays 120 games the A's are going to the world series. milton bradly and thomas are two HUGE pickups and blanton and haren will only improve Oh i really dont think they expect that much from thomas, but don't you think that billy beane puts such little stock in the manager that it can hurt them in the playoffs, not having an elite mgr., i mean? LorfTVP
Think of it like this...Blanton had a 5 era for half the year and ended with one in the mid-3s. The As offense which has always been a down point has improved significantly with a healthy Bobby Crosby, Milton Bradley, Frank Thomas, and a breakout Mark Ellis. I predicted the Rangers last year, VG, but they dissapointed me. I'll get into this later, for I must be off to socialize. As for the Diamondbacks...one or two years. They have one of the best farm systems in the majors. I'll get into it later.

We'll have maybe 10 guys playing in the 4 and 5 spots on the rotation, Diomond, Rupe, Danks, Dominguez, etc. Lots of guys that are gonna try and prove they seserve to be on the roster and get PT. I love the Millwood signing, the guy has the perfect attitude pitching in Arlington, he really impressed me with his comments and attitude so far. Eaton on the other hand, early on he didn't seem to relish the idea of playing in Texas, Padilla seems to excited about playeing here. Then the offense even without Sori, should be better than last year, and the defense WILL be better.
Ditto
Kinda early again, but what the hell. A.L. East New York Yankees, if Torre can straighten out his pitching in time. Good minor league people this year. Boston Redsox- May or may not have the pitching. Lost a very underated player in Meuller. Toronto Blue Jays. Had them for 2nd, but they already lost one arm. Baltimore Orioles Tampa Bay Devil Rays A.L. Central Chicago White Sox Clevelend Indians-W.C. Minnesota Twins Detroit Tigers Minnesota Twins Kansas City Royals A.L. West Oakland Athletics. Los Angleles Angels Texas Rangers- Seattle Mariners National League N.L. East Atlanta Braves. Again, it's just hard to pick against that manager. This year will be closer, though. New York Mets Washington Nationals Philadelphia Phillies Florida Marlins N.L. Central ST. Louis Cardinals Chicago Cubs Houston Astros Cincinatti Reds - Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburge Pirates N.L. West San Francisco Giants San Diego Padres. The bad part is, they might have to rely on Piazza Los Angeles Dodgers Arizona Diamondbacks Coloroda rockies World Series Yankees over Mets Edited March 21, 2006 by Ditto

so-cal dub
No way are they even close to being competative. I saw them in a 4 game series against the Marlins last year and they do not look good and are not going to be good for the next year or two. They need a lot of help. Look for the Giants or Padres to take the division. .......I'm psychic..... I dont know, there my sleeper team this season. I just have this feeling.
