Who stays, and who goes? I'd kinda like Rolle to stick around....see what Spags can do with him.

  • Antrel Rolle, S - Offer him something respectable for 2-3 years, he's pretty much been the only leader on the team since Strahan/Pierce.

Jason Pierre-Paul, DE - Going to have to give him some money, but he's not anywhere near a top 10 DE in the league, so don't pay him like one.

Walter Thurmond, CB

Stevie Brown, S - Had a fluke year, worse than CC Brown

Jacquian Williams, OLB - Played better down the strech, Spags is gonna want a veteran LB on the team.

Spencer Paysinger, OLB - Should be able to get something better in FA, unless Paysinger comes in really cheap.

Henry Hynoski, FB - Young and hardplaying FB, sign him to a multi year deal, shouldnt cost much to keep a quality starting player.

Quintin Demps, S - Shouldnt cost much to keep quality depth.

Jerrel Jernigan, WR - Should come cheap, unless he wants to walk than let him

James Brewer, G

John Jerry, G - Good back up, not a starter, would like to keep him for when injuries inevitably take out an O-lineman.

Zack Bowman, CB - Quality depth, not a starting corner but heck of a slot corner, he might walk just for a better deal somewhere else.

Mark Herzlich, ILB - Probably his best year playing, good depth and he will no doubt take a team friendly deal from the Giants.

Yeah Stevie started 8 games last year, CC only started 7 with the Giants.

And he still had a better year then Stevie.

There's absolutely no way. Stevie blew a few coverages and was out of position at times but teams specifically exploited cc brown.

Both were benched for horrible safety play and not being able to keep up with the slowest of WRs..

The fact that the coaches benched Stevie for a 5th round rookie, who will be keeping his job over Brown says enough to me. He had one fluke year, but he's on par with the level of mediocrity that is CC Brown.

Agree with everything except JWill and what do you mean he played better down the stretch? The last game he played was against Seattle which might have been the worst performance I've ever seen from a LB at the NFL level. The guy shouldn't be on a NFL roster. They can find better out there

I'd definitely try to keep JPP and Rolle (because we probably need Rolle more than any other team in the league would). The rest? Meh.

Hynoski is a good FB, but how essential is his position at this point--we weren't able to run with him, so he's basically just telegraphing run plays at this point.

Thurmond might be a more talented player when he's on the field, but I'd probably keep Bowman--because Bowman actually stays on the field. Brown had a bad year, but he might turn it around...might not--we need safeties either way. If we give up Brown and Demps because of a new draft pick and Rolle, I'm more than OK with it. Because even if we keep Rolle, we need to retool. Pray either Behr or Taylor show something...

Jernigan might be a cheap contract, but since he's not shown much in the way of value, that's kind of expensive.

Jerry on a backup contract? OK. But that wouldn't exactly be my first signing.

Linebackers--or at least "guys we call linebackers." I nominate Herzlich as this years "Dan Quinn of the linebacker group." Williams gets hurt a LOT (and already has a concussion), and Paysinger? He actually lost his slot to Herzlich. On the outside. Let that sink in for a moment.

Oh, did I forget to mention James Brewer? Let's hope that was the last time I do.

JPP can have an incentive-laden contract that pays him a base salary similar to Michael Bennett, or I'd be OK if we franchise tagged him ( though I'd argue he just had his "show me" season and didn't do much when it mattered), then offer Rolle a reasonable contract, just because we literally have nobody else there. Ditto for Hynoski

I'd let everybody else walk; all of those other guys are either marginal players or flat-out bad ones. The fact that James Brewer and JaQuain Williams have actually played out their rookie contracts is a testament to how fucking horrible Reese's drafts have been.

Rolle.. yea for the right price... not his inflated contract he never lived up to. JPP is the only one we must keep... Thuromond kindda owes us a year so he better stay at a reasonable price (he's injury prone and that should be taken into account)... everyone else is replaceable.

I don't believe Giants management understands how to create an incentive based contract. They simply sign contracts and restructure them until they are obscenely back loaded.

Antrel Rolle: 2-3 year contract reasonable

Jason Pierre-Paul: Pay the man top five at the position because that is what he is and best Free Agent on the market. We simply cannot replace him with what we have on the roster or through free agency.

Absolutely bring back: Henry Hynoski, Walter Thurmond, Zach Bowman

One year vet minimum contract on Jacquain Williams and Stevie Brown.

Farewell Mark Herzlich, John Jerry, James Brewer, Jerrel Jernigan, Quintin Demps, Spencer Paysinger.

Man, I have no idea where the JaQuain Williams love comes from. He's a terrible, terrible player.

Herzlich played better than him, and is much better on specials, yet many seem to love Williams and hate Herzlich.

Only reason why I picked Williams over Herzlich is the clear speed advantage and Herzlich isn't a three down LB. As far as Herzlich playing better than Williams this season, never happened. Can't justify his roster spot just for special teams play next season. If we could merge Herzlich's knowledge with Williams speed, we'd have someone worth a four year contract.
