English Premiership Soccer .......starts again

Yes DG ...... Arsenal are playing the best football in the Premiership by far at the moment ( ever since that opening day disaster against Villa infact ). If I were a ManU fan I would be starting to get worried now ( Boo ). Nobody fears going to Old Trafford any more ! ( and Fergie's book is not going to help matters either ). I cannot see Palace or Sunderland surviving either. Both dead by January I reckon. Massive game JR at the weekend for your boys v Burnley .... Good luck.

Yeah they are playing Wigan next Wednesday. Yep it is a big game, will hopefully take a point out of it. I don't see Burnley up there at the end though. They have a decent starting 11 but that is it. If they get hit with injuries, they are done. Thank god Andy Johnson is fully fit for this upcoming match. They are really going to need him and Austin because of injuries. I still think Sunderland has a small chance but Palace is cooked and it is not because of Holloway either. They just do not deserve to be up in the premier league. Leicester or Watford would have been a better.

I agree on palace, they are just not at the races. Holloway is a championship manager anyway, he doesn't have it for the Premiership.

I agree UK, fear is not a factor at Old Trafford, but fuck fear. We need goals badly. We got a fucking own goal 2 minutes in against Sociedad and then did everything but score the rest of the game. Play Kagawa dammit David!. leave fucking Feilaini on the bench and let him watch and figure out what the fuck to do.Januzaj gets no minutes but Ashley Young gets 20!

And Jonny Evans and Phil Jones are playing better than Rio right now so maybe a permanent switch is in order.

To be honest, i don't want to see Watford go up until they have a change of philosphy at ownership. Didn't those guys have 8 guys on loan playing in the playoff final last year, all from Udinese?

That QPR - Wigan game is huge for Wigan, they need to start making a move before they lose touch. I have a soft spot for the Wiggies, I'd like to see them back in the Prem.

Man QPR were terrible today. Did nothing the first half, passed the ball around like Barca wannabe's but they couldn't even do that. Just a really poor game and they did not look like a top team today. You will have those though. I think Harry was hoping to leave it late again but just the wrong tactics today. Should have had two up front at least and they looked better when they brought in Cheventon today. They are going to need to get a decent result on Wednesday. 5 points from the top, in 3rd with a game in hand. Really not the end of the world but it was very frustrating to watch and Harry needs to make adjustments. ugh

Didn't get a chance to watch any Premier games but Liverpool and Arsenal are looking really good. I think this might be The Gunners year, it's early though. Good one tomorrow, Chelsea and Man City.

Yeah Boo, Watford was under a transfer embargo also. Their owner also owned Undinese and Granada.

well JR ...ive never seen a mascot sent off before for an exchange with a linesman ! I thought that QPR and Burnley were fairly evenly matched until the goal on 65 mins. ( and Richard Dunne missed a bloody sitter a few minutes later which would have equalised ) Don't worry ...Harry will get you promoted.

Liverpool looked great yesterday. Suarez was immense and Henderson looked very powerful in support.

I thought ManU were going to drop yet more points until that miraculous comeback. Moyes must have been a very worried man until the 78th minute. ( Stoke deserved the draw at least )...but perhaps this game will kick start the season for ManU.

I continue to be vey impressed with Arsenal , Southampton and Everton ........this could be the closest title race for 20 years !

I just wrote that Evans and Jones were playing better than Vidic and Ferdinand, and then yesterday Jones stunk up the joint.

Smalling and nani were awful, He might as well ride the Januzaj train right now and give the kid a break when he needs it.

Kagawa, awesome on Wednesday, in the way yesterday. He just can't play with Rooney as they play the same spot.

Honestly I saw 10 minutes of Palace and Arsenal, then I had to go, I'm the director of our 8-9 division and I was at the field 4 hours yesterday. I caught the UNited game in the evening. Saw Burnley beat QPR, big win for them. Imagine Burnley in the Prem and Blackburn in the championship!. They hate each other.

Thanks JR , the storm is fairly bad with a few trees and power lines down ..... But nothing like what you have to deal with in the US !

Personally I would hate the idea of an NFL team based in London. My love of 'American Football' over the last 30 years derives from the fact that is truly American and has its history and traditions firmly rooted in the US. I enjoy the International Series games and it is a good product as an exhibition but I don't think that 1 game per week at Wembley would work. True fans in Europe already have fanatical support for 'their' NFL team eg The Giants. Nobody would switch allegiance to ' The London Monarchs ' or whatever they would be called.

In the same way .......we could never seriously export the Premier League. Can you imagine Spurs v Arsenal at Met Life Stadium .... I can't.

Thing is UK, I think it's the Jags that are going to end up in London. The owner has already contracted them for one game a year at Wembley for the next 3 years. Plus same guy just bought Fulham.

Rams end up in LA.

Glad you guys are okay.

Man, that is a shitty draw for the Football League Cup today, totally forgot about that one. I really hope a team does not end up on London, that is really going to fuck things up. I would rather see a team go to Canada, but not sure how the Buffalo Bills experiment went a few years back with that. Honestly, UK, I would not be surprised if the Premier League had a game over here once or a few times a year during the season in the near future. I know there are a l lot of American Football fans over there but I am just not sure if there would be enough support for a team. I think a game or two a year would be fine. Just imagine a London team going to the US west coast for a game or two over a season. What is that, an 8 hour difference? I don't like the idea.

Just watched the Arsenal v Liverpool game on tape ( having been away at the weekend ) . I have to admit that the Gunners were better than us and deserved the win. Did you see that goal by Ramsey ...... Stunning ! ( although it sickened me to watch it go in ). Wenger seems to have got your boys playing some proper football DG !

Yeah that game wasn't the most exciting game I have ever seen, just as bad as the Cardiff/Swansea game yesterday, boring as hell. What a close one that was between City and Norwich on Saturday, with City winning by a touchdown. Sucked though, I had to click on the BBC's match day site every 30 seconds just to keep up what was going on with QPR and Derby. They are on sky at 7:15am over here on Saturday. Going to be tough to get up for that one.

What a huge win for Man U and David Moyes over Arsenal ! , Rooney looking good I thought. ( this really is the most open title race in a generation ).

Liverpool continue to look impressive. ( Jol looks like a manager without a strategy )

Man City are bloody hopeless away from home ( how the fuck did they manage to lose to Sunderland ! )

Chelsea were bloody lucky to get a draw ( and save Mourinho's unbeaten home record ) against West Brom

Performance of the weekend was Newcastle goalie Tim Krul against Spurs ...outstanding.

Team of the year so far ......Southampton by miles.

Reading 1 QPR 1 ......a fair result JR ?

Yeah I think the draw at Reading was a good result. I believe Reading has a good team and will be in be top 6 at the end. Of course it's another game were Rangers could have scores 3 goals in the first 15 minutes but Reading's goalie played like Krul. I'll never forget that Aston Villa game last year where QPR dominated them for the first 25. Should have bad 5 goals but only could get 1. After they blew that game, all hopes of staying up ended. They were coming off two wins again Southampton and Sunderland, and if they got three again Villa, I believe that they would pull a miracle off. Still really pisses me off. Okay back on track. Unfortunately all teams are going to bleed points. Rangers blew it at Millwall and Wigan. In the next 4 games they have an opportunity to take away 10-12 points. It's not terrible though. They are only two points from the top. Burnley can't keep up the run of form. They have a good starting XI but when they get hit by injuries, their team wont be as strong. They are going to start leaving points. Same for Leicster. QPR should be in good shape. They are getting healthier but lost Fuerlin for the year. He's loved but they have midfielders who are better.

Hey UK, how are beers made by Samuel Smith Brewery? I was at the grocery store this evening and noticed a nice selection from them. There was a Taddy Porter, Nut Brown Ale, Oatmeal Stout and a few others. I was really tempted but they came in a 4 pack for $10. Usually a good six pack goes for about $10 here so that is what kept me away. I also saw 6 large cans of John Smith's. Those didn't look too tempting lol.

HI JR ,

Samuel Smiths is the oldest independent brewery in Yorkshire ( it is approx 30 miles from where i live ). To be honest , they sold out and became a bit too commercial for me a few years ago ....hence they are very mainstream nowadays and the beer is ok but a bit ' ordinary '.

I tend to drink Black Sheep , Theakstons Grouse Beater or Timothy Taylors Landlord.

The 'Real Ale' business in England is booming at the moment with over 300 new breweries and many other micro breweries starting up over the last 5 years. It has also become a huge export market. There has been a big switch away from crap mainstream branded ( cold ) lager drinking over here in the last decade towards an appreciation of smaller specialist tasty real ales , full of charachter ( warm ).

If you ever come to Yorkshire ....i'll buy you a pint or 2.

Regards

UK

P.S England were bloody awful in the 0-2 loss to Chile ! ( and Scotland v USA looked pretty bad too from the highlights ! )

I guess the same thing is happening over there and over here, we call it "craft beer". Lots and lots of them popping up all the time. I am just hoping the big companies don't start snatching them up. I tired a banana beer from England a while back. It was decent but expected more out of it. I don't know what you think of Newcastle, but it is one of my favorite beers. There a craft beer company who also makes a nut brown ale from Goose Island and it is one of my favorites. I am a big fan of lagers though and I love really bitter Ale's. I'll be honest, there are so many craft brews that it is so hard to keep up. Do you guys do pumpkin beers? That is one kind I can do all year.

If those new breweries put Boddingtons out of business that'll be a good thing. Bucket of piss that pint if you ask me.

Suarez was brilliant last night .......stunning performance !

Seriously bad night for Moyes ..........not a good reception from the Everton fans either !

( who would have thought that Man U would be 12 points adrift of Arsenal by 5th Dec )

( JR ...nice win for QPR ..........nice loss for Leicester ! )

Nice win for QPR but horrible game the previous week. Should have not lost to Doncaster. Well anyway, horrible draw for the US in the World Cup. Germany, Portugal, and Ghana. Brazil and Argentina with an easy group. Makes you still wonder if this thing is rigged. Not an easy for England also.
