Has anyone been this satisfied with a draft?

I mean really, none of these QBs and you can quote it in five years, none of these QBs will be anything special, at most it's gonna be Jackson simply because he will be the first QB to rush for 1500 yards.

Barkley was simply their guy and you can tell it with how much Getty is loving this pick, he's everything you would want in a player.

Herny in round two is probably the best thing in a long time for the team simply because he's a round one talent in round two without having to trade up. He is probably a more NFL ready guard than Nelson.

Carter is a day one rotational starter who is the most pure pass rusher the Giants have drafted in a very long time.

Hill is going to surprise people simply because he's a DT who can pass rush, which once again hasnt happened with Alford was on the team.

Lulu and McIntosh are just fodder at this point.

Hell of a haul.

I gave our draft a B+. I wasnt to thrilled about the Barkley pick for the simple fact that we could have traded down to the 5th and picked a few more pick alone the way.

But every pick seem to be solid. Obviously, I enjoy the Hernandez pick. I like to see what this kid brings.

Also, its going to at least 3 years before we can actually tell how good or bad this draft class truly is.

To be fair he was shitting on Nelson before the draft. Hes the only person on the planet who was doing it, but hes been consistent.

Im ok with how the first two rounds turned out. I dont know anything about the rest of the picks but the offense looks greatly improved.

I really like the Lorenz Carter pick. 6 5 250 and run a 4.5... great against the run and above average in pass coverage. So the measure are there. Im hope for a Carl Banks to LB for us.

Who said Denver or whoever had the 5th pick was a willing trading partner anyway?

Let's be frank... you really can't fuck this draft up... for fuck's sake we had the 2nd pick overall... I'm glad DG didn't get too cute with the pick and landed us the best player in the draft... of course there's no way of knowing whether any of these guys will pan out... I think the 1st 3 rounds were executed as perfectly as possible... we've had no running game since Ahmad Bradshaw was cut by the idiots at the FO. We arguably now have a potential superstar at RB... and we go out and get the best guard available... BOOM... another home run. Then we draft a LB... yea belei dat... The Giants now draft LBers... a very good one. Somehow who may turn out better than the guy Dallas drafted in the 1st round. The BJ Hill pick surprised me at first but the more I read about the kid the more I like it... not too crazy about the picks thereafter.

Nas, I kind of agree, but teams blow the 2nd overall pick almost as routine as not.

I'm trying to keep my enthusiasm manageable, what I really like is that half the draft was linemen. And I like the type of linemen they're drafting on D, it signals some interesting stuff is on the way...

I think we have 2 obvious and highly likely long term starters (if not better) in Barkely and Hernandez, with potential for Carter to be a 3-4 starting LB or at least sub-package contributor. BJ Hill and RJ McIntosh can at least be rotational guys at first, then develop into starters, although Star Ledger seems to think BJ Hill will start at DE this year, with Harrison at the NT, and Tomlinson at the other DE in the 3-4 alignment.

Lauletta is the real crapshoot. I like what I'm hearing about him and what I've seen from his senior bowl tape on YouTube, but am cautiously optimistic.

As far as QB goes, Id much rather draft the Patriots way and nab one in the mid rounds every year to every couple years and develop behind a proven leader than throw shit at the wall to see what sticks as far as those 4 QBs were concerned. The Cowboys, Rams, and to a lesser extent Jags have proven that a workhorse RB improves your entire offense and can be the backbone to rebuild on. Theyve already gone all in on Manning and Im personally believing they are all in for more than just this season.

Even if they can bounce back to 9 wins and a potential wild card, Ill be happy with the direction the team is going. I think with that theyve done with coaching, draft, players returning from injury and free agency though, they are a viable contender for a wild card. The Cowboys have lost pretty much their core. Redskins wont win win Alex Smith and no playmakers. Eagles are a legit threat to repeat but I think the Giants arent far off from being able to run with them.

Agreed driz and Im glad we are going for it. The only thing that worries me is that the nfc is so freaking stacked now.

Everyone looks stacked on paper and the season starts. Looking forward to sweeping the division this year.

True but i feel like on paper its gonna be a harder field to compete with. Eagles, saints, Vikings, rams, falcons and probably packers are all tough outs this season

I think we'll certainly be better this year but I also think .500 is probably our ceiling.

I think they get over .500 but they dont make the playoffs.

Then again you never know, a healthy OBJ/Engram/Shepard and now Barkley should be pretty scary with Shurmur and Shula.

Pretty much where I'm at. Offensive line is still too shaky, so is the secondary and not sure we have the horses in the front Seven to mask it.
