In Kaps defense on that play it's very possible he doesn't have the power to audible. Should still throw to Smith anyway but I've read with many teams the QB has one play. Which is a little strange because according to test scores, he's a bright guy.... but we've seen it time and again on the field; he can run fast, he can throw far, but he just doesn't really know what he's doing out there.
