looks the part...unfortunately, that's not everything...it's all about his ability to grip

He'll be able to grip just fine. I've put out the challenge before... grab your own shirt without the use of your index finger and pull. You can easily do so with power. Wasn't there some doctor that said the majority of your grip strength comes from your middle and ring fingers?

Probably but around here we rely on own understanding

Yeah but that thumb looks pretty fucked up too...

My understanding is he had one sack last year...unless that's an opinion

1. He didn't play a good portion of the season

2. He did get a lot of QB hurries/pressure

3. He wore a club almost all last season, now we are talking about him having use of the hand

He'll be fine... in fact, much better than fine.

I for one am quite sure he is going to be a beast this year - and will be primed for a long term contract with the Giants come next year. You could see he was improving with every game. No one can plan the run better than he can and he was the best at batting balls down as well

I think he'll be improved over last season, but I'm not expecting the guy he used to be either.

Agreed, grabbing a cup of coffee is far different than dragging down a guy like Cam Newton. He has half a thumb, no index finger, and a jacked up middle finger. I have no knowledge of the tendons that may or may not have been destroyed as well as what was done to repair them if anything. Range of motion, grip strength, etc. will play as big a role as any conditioning.

I'm sure he'll continue to get pressures. But whether or not the sacks will come depends largely on his hand and his ability to use it.

I'm hoping this Olivier cat we brought in does more for JPP than his improved hand will.

That injured hand needs some sort of reinforcement (i.e., like the metal in a wrist brace) to help his existing fingers.

Agreed... and the experience has humbled him quite a bit...
