I read it and once again, awesome and give Gettlemen credit here because Jerry Reese would have left Omameh on the roster for two more years to see if he could improve.  I thought Omameh was going to be better than John Jerry and instead proved to be another version of John Jerry.  Gettlemen is aggressive in finding players to build this roster and removing players who are failing.

Not for nothing but this team looks more and more like a rudderless ship every day. Omameh sucked for sure but now we have have to eat 5.5 million in dead money and for what?

I hope they have a better backup guard on the roster.

I believe if they waited till next year they would of been on the hook for something like 9 million.

5.5 is better then 9 I guess is what they were thinking.

Only $3.5 million hit for 2019.  They put Quadree Henderson back on the active roster and still have depth at guard.

Ahh that makes sense then. Best you can do after a bad signing I guess.

Exactly what I thought.

The praise DG gets for cutting this deadbeat is negated by the fact DG signed said deadbeat.

man, it's so tough being a fan at this time. This is going to be a long rebuild.

Sometimes you have to make a mistake while you try to make improvements.

I don't really keep track of the successes or mistakes because then it turns into a subjective conversation as to which were the successes and the mistakes.

I don't think it was that big of a miss simple because Omameh was not given a cap busting contract.  Ask me in two years who Gettlemen missed on not named Stewart.

I agree with Nas. This guy was brought in to hopefully work out. Brought in cheap and then played awful. Now gone. Gettleman doesnt deserve a pass on this move now that hes cutting him.

and lord knows we don't want discussions.

Seemed to me yesterday they used max protect and were able to get guys open. I don't know if that was bc 49ers secondary was so bad or just that when Eli is given time to survey the field, he can still find the open guy. Either way, like to see a lot more of it.
