Come on Offensive Line!!!!

Yeah this offence has amazing potential. If Barkley is anywhere near as good as projected, combined with Odell, Shepard, Evans, Eli etc, it will be very difficult to stop them. On paper this O-line is improved. The only question is by how much? I'm thinking just having a competent LT alone should be a dramatic improvement. Of course Flowers transition to RT is a huge question mark. But even if he stays the same, at least now Eli will be able to see it coming

Well, adding Solder upgraded LT, shifting Flowers over improves RT (because Hart made Flowers look good).

On the inside it's a bit more tenuous, with a rookie, a couple John Jerry caliber players (Jerry, Omemeh), and a man shorter than me at center.

I still think the line will be average at best, at least at the outset, but that may be good enough.

The depth worries me though.

That's true NSA, I didn't think about how Flowers was an upgrade over Hart, so even if Flowers still kinda sucks, its still an improvement. Hernandez obviously has a lot to prove, but I'm not worried about him at all. Kid is a beast with a mean streak. Has a great chance to be one of the most dominant interior linemen we have had in a long time.

This group doesn't have to be the most dominant line in the league. If we can get them to be a little better then average, the talent around them should be able to do their jobs well.

Also agree depth could very well be a big issue. Crossing fingers that these guys can stay healthy.

Yeah, league average would be an upgrade. Hopefully its enough for Eli and the skill guys

Yeah, on paper, I don't recall ever having a better set of skill position players at every skill position than we do now (WR, RB, TE). You might argue WR is thin once you get past ODB and Sterlinh Shepherd, but considering the passing threat posed by Engram and Barkley, along with the potential for Latimer or Russel Shepard to step up, I think this argument is nitpicking at best. Realistically, you would expect ODB, Shep, and Engram to have at least ~60-70 catches each, and if Barkley has around 50-60 himself, there's not many touches leftover for a 3rd WR; maybe 20-30?

I think the OL has been addressed... period. even Jones at center is being pushed out by someone better...

I thought Jones was an upgrade over Richburg, when he replaced Richburg last year...so if Halapio is beating out Jones, that seems to be a further upgrade to me.

Sidenote: I can't believe the 49ers gave Richburg a 48 million dollar contract.

Exactly my point on the center position....

Outside of the NFC east teams, the one team I loath the most is the 9ers... mainly because of the flaky fanbase... never heard of any of them till the 9ers started winning a few years ago... then they disappeared again... good fucking riddance.

They've resurfaced. They think Jimmy G is the second coming of Montana

It will be a better offensive line than we have fielded in years. Just two points: We are thin at the tackle position going into the season. Will Hernandez is going to struggle at some point during the season because he is a rookie but we have depth at guard.

My only concern is the defense this year.

Yes. Pass Rush and CB play are my main concerns, especially if Apple doesnt pull it together.

More concerned about the guys behind Eli Apple: Mix of guys who shouldn't start.

I hope Thompson or Andrew Adams can step up. Adams was fine in 2016; Im not sure why he was relegated in 2017.

Landon also seemed a bit off in 2017, from a coverage perspective. We need more of his 2016 performance as well.

Flowers is struggling... report out of camp is Hes given up 4 sacks since the Giants put on Pads. This kids has been a bust.

Solder hasn't been much better, and the second string has been far worse still.

But it's way early, the Ds usually run roughshod over the offensive side of the ball in the early going. Offense is more complicated, it takes more time.

Sounds like a wild defensive scheme they've been going up against too. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it gets real.

Yeah reports coming out of training camp has the defensive line ahead of the curve and giving the offensive line fits across the board. I think it is great and not a sign of things to come or something to be concerned about. No reason to start throwing guys under the bus, a lot of training camp to get through and a preseason. This team is coming together hopefully make this an exciting year.
