Martin
Does anyone know the exact reason why he was released? Was it that he wouldnt restructure his contract or was he not fully healthy?? But too many times the Giants have let players go only to show off their talents on another team. If you have facts please respond.
Guest nosebleed
Barrett Green, two seasons, eleven games, remembered for one play, returning a fumble for a touchdown.........get over your obsession.
GiantsRevival
Green has hardly played for us the last 2 years. We won't miss him any. We were overpaying him. Any team that signs him will get him at a much cheaper rate. I believe the reasoning behind the release was a little of both. They probably weren't confident he could stay healthy and he wouldn't accept a pay cut. So he left them no choice but to release him. I agree 100% with the move. Emmons has been more productive and healthier plus he is a veteran. Plus cutting Green saved us more money. So all around it was the right thing to do. Martin
Barrett Green, two seasons, eleven games, remembered for one play, returning a fumble for a touchdown.........get over your obsession. Obession !!!! Let me say this bleed for Months and Months you and your disfunctional crew the "FAB4" have been nothing but obsessed with Eli, shockey Joseph and plax. Every day day in day out you fill these boards with negative nonsense about your choosen team. THe Giants?? I dont see how your team is the Giants but thats another topic! After watching 500+ giants games and watching other NFL games through the years you pick up on things and my opinion is that Green is very talented !! You so no !! Fine thats your opinion but mark my words Green if fully healthy will start in the NFL and do very well. My OBSESSION as you call it was to find facts regarding his release . Was it money or was it his HEALTH!!! DO YOU HAVE FACTS ??? 2nd Time!!! I say you dont have any facts !! the fab 4 usually goes with spouting out bullshit. Guest nosebleed
Fact - Two seasons, 11 games Fact - Injury plagued Fact - Conflict with Coughlin Your paying a linebacker over 13 million dollars, he needs to be on the field, not laying on the training table for two seasons. He never adjusted to Coughlin's petty rules and the word around is that they never got along. The reason why he was cut is simple...........he was never on the field and made too much money. It's only common sense that he would be released, he was worthless. It's the beginning of the purge on defense. The Giants need starters that will be on the field, willing to give 100%, have brains, and are fleet of foot. As you can see Green and Williams (dead wood) were axed, Alexander was most likely pushed into retirement, since he was as slow as a turtle. Now, they must work on getting rid of those players who do not give 100% on every play, a certain #94 comes to mind. Of course, the Fab 4 predicted Green's release around week 2 on Giants.com. Money
Green's release is probably a combination of health problems and an inability of he and the Giants to agree on a pay cut.
Currency
Giants aren't the only team to release players to have them perform at a high level on another team.

It will be hard to replace a guy and get another one that is ALWAYS hurt.
Guest Floyd The Barber
Because no one else did... correct...nobody else did !!! everyone said week after week that when he returns are LB would be a leauges best unit...everyone was penciling this guy in as a starter for 2006 when in reality he was out the door...the FAB 4 predicted this guy wouldnt amount to much the day he inked his huge contract...and we were right yet again... he will be remembered for 2 positive plays...the fumble recovery touchdown, and how he was the only one to come to that Pussy's defense when he was smacked out of bounds by Trotter...(later to be scolded by TC yet again)

Coughlin, who did not say Green would be released when asked specifically about him, addressed a few other issues yesterday http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?...3880.xml&coll=1 I thought that maybe NY would resign him at a lower salary, but after the arts i have read. I see this as less likely.

One wonders why they didn't dump this permanent injury-list clown lastt preseason.
Guest Nutty Sack
With all the attention being given to DT's in the draft can Willie Joe be far behind ?? Unless of course he tweeks his ankle injury in the over throw of the Haitan ruling goverment.

Word has it, Haitians were able to view the Carolina game and were so upset with their prized athlete, they started burning villages and raping mules.
