Storm
Why do they refuse to put up points? Against Atlanta no less....are teams being told to avoid field goals while playing the Falcons? Everyone has made it way to easy on the Dirty Birds. It should be 20-6 right now. A two score game.
Gman329
Coming up empty on 3rd & 1 and 4th & 1 from the 11, with the score 13-0 was a killer. Hated the 4h&1 play.

As a Giants fan, I totally feel for them. The FB dive on 4th and 1 was horrendous and so Gilbride-esque.
Bigblue25
Seattle seems to be able to exploit the middle with Miller, then they stray away from it.

Bigblue25
Well Atlanta is doing a great job, keeping Wilson in the pocket. Think they can do the same against Kaepernick.

Steitzenhaus
Wow what a fucking game. Tough loss for Seattle but they got an absolute steal in Wilson. Amazing what he was able to do in a hostile environment.
BronxRik
Definitely not rooting for any NFC team this year. It's going to suck rooting for the Patriots when the Texans lose later.
Storm
I think the Texans might surprise some folks tonight....at least I hope they do. They are about the only team left that I feel completely neutral about. I wanted to come out and see Atlanta fail to score any points on offense again, that'd have been awesome....but I hated Seattle, too, so it didn't matter there. But at least with them I could root for Russel Wilson, the rookie QB who gets the least attention. I hate New England for obvious reasons and we need new teams in the championship games. And knowing we whooped up on San Francisco, albeit with that chump Alex Smith in at QB, just makes me hate that team even more than last year. BronxRik
Yeah, I'm not crazy about the Falcons, but I could live with a Falcons/Texans SB over, say, the Harbaugh Bowl. Besides, I've been predicting the Texans to go all the way since the days of David Carr.

NightFire
WHO CALLED TIME OUT?!?!?!?! When will these coaches learn that icing the kicker does nothing but fuck yourself. Me and the woman were talking about this on Saturday and low and behold it happens on Sunday. It's a out thinking yourself move and is useless. Does Coughlin do this because I don't remember the Giants doing to many ice the kicker time-outs? Caroll should almost be fired for this boneheaded game. So many missed opportunities by Seattle on complete brain farts. It'd be hard as a player not to think that your coach screwed up big time. Allstarjim
They were talking about this on something I was watching or reading, can't remember, but there was some statistical analysis that said that icing reduces a kicker's success rate by 4%. However, if they get a practice kick out of it, then that changes everything. You can't let them snap the ball.

Coughlin icing the cowboys kicker last season won the game for us allowing us to make the playoffs and win the superbowl.
NightFire
Coughlin icing the cowboys kicker last season won the game for us allowing us to make the playoffs and win the superbowl. Was that the JPP block? I thought that Coughlin did do it but it seems not very often. Maybe I am wrong though. Personally I think it's more likely to back fire than help. The best was when Garrett iced his own kicker. Priceless.

It's the only time I remember Coughlin doing it.
Storm
I've never thought that it did anything other than piss off a bunch of fans, personally....and yeah, especially if the kicker is given a free practice shot. I knew Bryant's kick was going through as soon as he missed the first one and Carroll called a timeout to give him a do-over. NFL kickers are talented and know how to adjust their kicks, he knew he was wide-right the first shot, so he adjusted his next kick, and bam, it goes through. Damn, if we had only stuck with Matt Bryant for another season and seen what he could do....he's turned into one of the NFL's premier kickers, in my opinion. Better than Lawrence Tynes, who though arguably the NFL's best kicker inside the 40 where all of his attempts occur, has the weakest leg of probably all other kickers in the league. Though I appreciate Tynes' efforts in the playoff runs and Super Bowls, he's just not the best option out there for us because you can't rely on him to kick a 49 yard field goal to win the game. How many games were we winning by 3 or less with little time remaining? I recall a season where either we were losing or we were blowing teams out. I don't believe we were in a position to ice the kicker very often this season.
