EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules, the Giants announced today. The suspension takes effect immediately, meaning Jenkins will miss Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Rams.

“As a member of this team, there are standards and we have responsibilities and obligations,” said coach Ben McAdoo. “When we don’t fulfill those obligations, there are consequences. As I have said before, we do not like to handle our team discipline publicly. There are times when it is unavoidable, and this is one of those times.”

The Giants returned to the Quest Diagnostics Training Center on Monday following their bye week. Jenkins was not in attendance on Monday. At the time, McAdoo said he had been excused for personal reasons.

“At that point, neither myself nor any of the coaches had heard from Jackrabbit,” McAdoo said. “I did not speak with him directly until Tuesday morning.”

Jenkins was informed of the suspension on Tuesday. McAdoo said that he will review the status of the suspension at the beginning of next week.

Just heard this on the radio and I'm confused... so Yesterday he was excused for personal reasons but today you hadn't spoken to him until this morning? Which is it? This is beyond a joke at this point. If ANYONE survives this season you can mark it down that Mara and Tisch literally don't give a shit.

So... you've been blocking me because I make fun of The Vagiants?

Are you fucking serious?

I thought it was because of something I did to you.

I'm just messing around with you guys.

What a dumbass you are.

Stop being a fucking baby.

Obviously the Giants brass are agreeing with him. He may not be the greatest coach but I'm not sure who'd agree to suspend their 2 pro bowl corners for little reason.

I do think that eventually, theyll have to look at the reasons the pro bowl corners are causing issues though, right? Not excusing not showing up to work or that whole diva, pro athlete mentality. Just saying that, and Im not sure Im accurate here because maybe it did happen and Im forgetting, but I dont remember any players pulling this shit with a perceivably (in my book) more respectable Head Coach like Tom Coughlin...

How is the media treating him? You'd think there would be someone asking some tough questions.

Media isn't thrilled with the year two McAdoo. He doesn't give them much to write about, handles the easy questions just like the hard ones.

They're not going to undermine him either, even if they were on the fence about him

I don't think they are on the fence with McAdoo. The coaching has been poor, but player effort and performance and Jerry's last offseason have been worse. Jerry can't last another year after this, no matter how they finish. I think Mc Adoo stays, Jerry goes and the search for another QB starts. This team has maybe 10-12 keepers and needs to be broken down and rebuilt. And Jerry aint the guy to do it.

Look, I get what you're saying but fact is it should have nothing to do if it's Lombardi or McAdoo. Coach, good or Bad calls the shots. These guys knew the rules and 99% of the players obeyed them and 1% said no. You have a shitty manager at work, and you break his rules, you broke the rules. You don't like him or his rules, you can leave. It's up to the company to figure out he's a shitty manager.

Look certain suspensions can be handled in house and in a better manner. You think the Pats dont have a couple violators? Its just that this habit of McAdoo throwing his players under the bus and publicizing it is what worries me. Fine you suspended him - just keep it in house call it excused for personal reasons and move the fuck on. No reason to display your power which is getting you nowhere.
