My suggestion for linebacker and pass rush.

Sounds like Beason might go on IR.....and clearly the Giants need more help with the pass rush.

I hope Kennard gets more chances. Also, Moore played LB his first two years....he can play standing up.

Back in the day, they were talking about getting creative with Moore....

t’s called the "joker" position at Texas A&M, a hybrid linebacker/defensive end role in which Damontre Moore would rush from a stand-up position or with his hand on the ground.

Sound familiar?

The Giants have turned that job description into an art form with their use of Mathias Kiwanuka the past several seasons, and it seems the team has similar plans for Moore. He certainly has the résumé.

..."My first two years, that’s all I did was stand-up rush," Moore said Friday during the first day of the Giants two-day rookie minicamp at the Timex Performance Center in East Rutherford. "Then, this year, I switched it up and did mainly hand down.

"Overall, I did more rushing standing up than with my hand on the ground throughout my college career. But I think with me having done both it gives me a good, diverse background to make that transition (to the NFL)."

Moore, who says he has patterned his game after Dallas Cowboys All-Pro defensive end/linebacker DeMarcus Ware, hasn’t delved far enough into his new playbook to see how similar what he did in college matches what the Giants may ask him to do.

But Giants Director of College Scouting Marc Ross has.

"Our coaches are excited to use him in different ways," Ross said after drafting Moore. "You’ve seen some of our guys do that hybrid role. He has a skill set to do a little bit of both."....

Here you've got a guy who is a pass rush specialist, who can rush from the outside LB position.....you'd think that maybe Fewell would get JPP, Hankins, Ayers, and Moore all on the field at the same time, even if that meant getting Moore in at linebacker.

But that would mean benching Kiwi, and resting one of Fewell's beloved 3rd safeties.

I don't get why we have a guy like Moore on the bench when we can't get any pressure....

Mainly because we have a DC with no balls nor creativity.

His idea of crazy is 4 pass rushers - including Kiwi, who is about 3 years past his prime - plus 3 safeties (4 if you count J-Will, who plays the run like he's a safety).

Mainly because Coughlin feels young guys need to warm the bench for a few years till they grow older and slower.

So true. Then, they draft their replacement to ride the bench while the crusty vets start, or, more likely, find a crusty vet to pick up in free agency to replace the crusty vet that was once the young guy we drafted.

I'd like to know where everyone gets this idea from.

Williams, Pugh, Richburg, Odell are all starting, heck the entire 07 draft class was starting at some point.

And Hankins. They must see something at practice to feel Moore's not ready. That article was immediately post draft, other articles stated Moore is going to take time and is a bit of a tweener

After the last two games of 250 yards rushing by McCoy and Murray, I'd be more concerned about stopping the run which isn't Moore's strong point.

Still, they'd get them in 3rd and long and give up a 15-20 yard pass play. There were series in both games where they successfully stopped the run only to stay on the field because Foles and Romo had all day to throw.

That was extremely maddening... yelling at the TV is not my thing... I just put my face down like this jerk is gonna rush 3 again...

And in contrast, on third and long, our offense ran draw plays or little underneath passes to fucking Peyton Hillis! :(

Yea.. luckily I was too emotional exhausted from the defense get any madder... it's like the figured they'll surprise the cowboys with Hillis... and I like Hillis but he's not made for those situations.

Hillis is made for sitting home and playing the edition of Madden that he was on the cover for and reliving his glory day. Day, not days. The man would not get another call if he was let go by us.
