Currency
Plaxiglass and Stockey must improve ____________________________________________________________________ Sportswrath News By Jason Currency ____________________________________________________________________ The character that Plaxi and Stockey have shown towards the young QB is unprofessional and unsportsman-like. In 2006, Plaxi and Stockey must improve their character or face the consequences. Plaxiglass isn't a 23 year old youngin full of testosterone, he is 29. For a 29 year old to show the unsportsman-like character during game-day towards a young QB is embarrassing to the fans, coaches, players and rest of the organization. Plaxi & Stockie must either learn the concept of the word 'team' or don't show up for game-day. Their embarrassing behavior is even more magnified when you factor in their teammates and how they react to the same situations. Tiki Barber is one of the classiest football player in the NFL. It would be logical for one to assume that the two malcontent would be motivated by Tiki Barber's handling of a rough situation. Not the case here. In the midst of grooming a young QB, two players have been very supportive, Amani Toomer and Tiki Barber. It's no surprise to the Giants fans that Toomer and Barber have never thrown a hissy fit at Eli for overthrown a ball or a no thrown pass. It's time for the two malcontent, Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress, to stop playing selfish ball and start playing as a team. 2006 is their last chance to improve their character and be part of this team. © Jason Currency : Official Sportswrath Giants reporter/writer. Guest Carbo
Regardless of the alleged egos behind the article, it stands on its own merits. TO Lite and TO White were shameful during the season with regards to their pouting and showing up of their QB. Both needed to be benched early in the season, with a stern warning from Coughlin that once more and they would never leave the bench.

gateb
Luckily, we avoided potential fights and breakdowns involving Plax and Shockey. I think all of you are too rough on Shockey. He only showed his frustration minimal amount of times. It was Plax that was obvious. He walked off the field in opposite directions of Eli and had that stupid walk that showed how "gangsta" he is. However, when Eli was doing fine, Plax was fine. And we expect Eli to be fine right? Obviously, you don't want that fact out of your #1 WR lingering but the problem can be avoided. And Plax is more then fine with the media. After the Panthers game he said "Maybe I should take a look in the mirror." They'll be fine. Plax has to be more consistent though. 11 drops really isn't acceptable.

These two malcontents are also the only two that refuse to attend the voluntary off season workouts in NJ. While Tiki, Amani and the other backs are working out and running routes with Eli in NJ, the two ME-BOYS are hanging in South Beach. these two care about themselves and nothing else. Shockey will never be Mark Bavaro, and Plaxico is barely a number 2 WR - yet these two refuse to try to improve themselves in the Giant passing game. Maybe the draft will get the Giants some replacements for these two trouble makers. Edited March 10, 2006 by Lockhart
icavesai69
You know theres a reason why the Fag 4 (although i think its about 6 now) are on a message board discussing what the Giants should do and not in the FO making the real decisions. Fact is if you guys were really as good as you THINK you are you'd be a part of the FO and would be making these decisions. Yet you guys may think you know whats going on, and maybe you do have some good football insight, but the fact is you only see what the media presents. EA and everyone else in the orginization see 100% whats goin on and theres a reason they are being payed to do what they're doing. Even if you dont agree with all the moves they make, and there have been some bad moves and great ones, you cant say they dont know whats going on. How many busts have there been in the league? So every GM or FO is retarded for picking up this person or that person? Get the fuck out of here with that shit. You can only go on past performances of a player and if they have been showing improvement or if they showed/ are showing promise to contribute to the team then at the times its a good pick up. Some one turns out to be a bust and you're all on the FO for being "stoopid imgrates" and all that shit. You've been to a few practices, but you're not at all of them. You're not at all of the work-outs, and everything else that the FO see's. Bottom line is they are doing what they are doing for a reason and you're at home/work sitting on a dick posting on these boards
Brad
I agree that plax needs to definitely be at the workout, having had 11 dropped balls this year, but shockey should not feel as obligated. He has already proven himself as one of the leagues best Tight Ends, and furthermore, he rarely showed his frustration toward Eli, unlike Plax, who definitely needs a tude adjustment. If Marvin harrison, Reggie Wyne, Dallas Clark and all the other Colt receivers can show up, so can Shockey. Shockey showed the same tantrums as Plaxico toward Eli. Shockey also suffers greatly from the Droppsies. If Gonzalez and Gates can work out with their QBs, Shockey can get off his dead butt and run routes with the Giant QBs. Guest Carbo
Beat up Shockey all you want, but you cannot deny he had a fabulous season offensively. No, he didn't. Stats only tell part of the story. The guy disappeared for weeks at a time last year. If a standout TE is available in the first round, I for one wouldn't be upset if the Giants grabbed him and dangled TO White as trade bait. It'll never happen, of course, but a man can dream. . .

Great idea! Give up one of our biggest threats in the passing game. Plain and simple, shockey is a decent blocker, a great playmaker, and a tough SOB to throw on top of that. I mean for gods sake, he was playing most of the season through a broken sternum!! Give the man the respect he deserves. You can't say that sometimes, he wasn't justified in being a bit annoyed that Eli was messing up throws because of basic mechanics problems. Gates made Shockey look like a rookie, while Chris Cooley and Jason Witten already are surpassing Shockey as better TEs in the NFC East - join us in reality. Of course Witten and Cooley didn't have a weak-armed, inaccurate QB throwing to them either as Shockey did.

A teammate never shows up another. Granted, Eli was throwing like a girl by week 10, but then rip him in the huddle, or the lockerroom, or in practice. But you don't do it on the field, on gameday. That kind of display only hurts the team and emboldens the opposition.

It's that UM headcase mentality that almost all of those players have - they care little of their team and teammates and only think of themselves. These former Hurricanes all seem to have the same me-first personality in football, and seem to have litte concern what anyone thinks of it. Guest Lockhart
Chris Cooley? Get real son. Wouldn't the fact that both Witten AND Cooley had better QBs mean that they should have put up better numbers? Why didn't they? No question they both had better QBs, but their roles in the offense wasn't the same as Shockey's. Put Cooley or Witten in Shockey's slot they have more catches for more TDs than Shockey. Shockey is like Lavar Arrington - hyped up bi, but underachieving. Shockey's numbers were good, but with a really good TE would have have been better. Witten will not have to block so much this season with Flozell Adam's return and he will again shame Shockey, while Chris Cooley is also surpassing the self-indulgent Shockey. It should also be mentioned that Witten and Cooley aren't hurt every season like the China doll Shockey. Edited March 10, 2006 by Lockhart

It's not hard, if he's not refusing to practice with Eli, he is injured or dropping passes, while complaining to anyone that will listen that he isn't being used correctly. Guest Lockhart
Sorta like you bitching about Plax/Shockey/Eli/Joseph to anyone who will read it. Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle. All four are lacking - Plaxico has little heart, bad hands, and tends to give up in games, while Joseph has been a disaster from the start. Eli fell apart the last half of 2005, displaying his complete collapse in the playoff game against Carolina - a game in which both Shockey and Plaxico gave up in the first half. The problem players are now identified - next step is to replace them.
