Allstarjim
This was posted today on the Mets team blog at ESPN: Report: Mets make Davis available By Adam Rubin Ike Davis is available in trades, according to the Post's Joel Sherman. Sherman tweets: "Fascinating is #Mets r talking with suitors seriously about Ike Davis. #Rangers, #Pirates need 1B. Tex in particular is known to like Ike. Obviously, if traded, Davis would have to pass physical with ankle, but #Mets insist he is fully healthy. #Mets prioritty is if can get higher-ceiling plyrs for long-term anyone, but Wright, can go. Davis can do that more than Pelfrey or Murphy." For the record, the Rays also need a power-hitting first baseman who costs little. If there's truth to this then I fucking give up. He's cheap, young, plays fantastic defense and is a great bat, hits for average AND power. Who the fuck are you trying to get in prospects? Why is Davis not the central building block for this team for the next 12 years? As far as I'm concerned Davis is the LAST guy I would trade on this roster, including David Wright. Sandy Alderson has to be smarter than this, I swear.
Herc
maybe they know something about his injury? it really makes very very little sense to trade him, he's early enough in his career where even a rebuilding team shouldn't trade him at this point
osi724dasack
Sounds fishy But as a Yankee fan, trust me Alderson and JP will definately turn that team around slowly but surely. By 2015 you guys should be competitive again.
