Josh Rosen Trying to Pull an Eli?

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen seemed to confirm on Tuesday a report over the weekend that he'll try to avoid playing for the Cleveland Browns, who have the No. 1 pick in the draft.

"I'd rather be a lower pick at the right team than a higher one at the wrong team,'' Rosen said Tuesday as the Bruins prepare to play in the Cactus Bowl tonight against Kansas State, per Josh Weinfuss of espn.com.

On Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Rosen would prefer to play for the Giants over the Browns, and that he'd even consider staying in school to avoid coming to Cleveland.

By the end of the game, a 20-3 loss to the Bears, the Browns had clinched the No. 1 pick in the draft, and have a clear shot at Rosen, widely regarded as one of the top college QBs. Rosen, who will sit out tonight's game with a concussion, will confer with his parents after this game to decide what to do, Schefter reported.

The Giants currently have the No. 2 pick in the draft, but could slip to No. 3 if they win their finale and the Colts lose.

Sources told Schefter that Rosen prefers the Giants because they're "more stable'' than the Browns. Cleveland has started 28 quarterbacks since their return in 1999, and have had only two winning seasons in that 18 years.........

U know heebs aren't generally regarded for their athletic prowess, but there have been a few great ones across all major sports.

So, if Josh Rosen has the superior intelligence of a heeb and the athletic ability of a brother...every giant fan should want him.

That said, I don't know anything about him

Got to question his intelligence. Giants are not exactly Quarterback U. They didn't make it a priority to protect an aging QB, imagine what they won't do for a young one.

There seems to be some thought in the media that this was intentional on Reese's part. Apparently (according to these unnamed sources Anita Marks has) he decided to half-ass solidify the OL to force Eli to move on so that he could effectively have his coach (MacAdoo) and his QB, whomever that would be from the draft. I don't believe that's what really happened but considering the debacle we've had the last few years I'm not completely ruling out anything.

None... I think the Giants value Mayfield over Rosen anyway...

That would depend entirely on the New York Giants being able to disguise their true target on draft day. If I were the Browns I'd take who the Giants wanted to draft and see if we could make a deal or just keep him because the Browns record of picking starting QB's is disappointing.

I'd love for nothing more than the new GM do a smoke screen thing, send scouts and shit to Rosens pro day, make it seem like the Giants have a hard on for the guy, when in reality they are just there wasting time while he sends the real guys to go scout Allen/Mayfield.

Come draft day the Browns can take Rosen while the Giants laugh.

We dont have to do anything... whoever the Browns pick we pick the other one.... I just have a feeling Mayfield is the best prospect....

That is what I thought when we picked Rivers...then traded him to San Diego for Manning.

I have very scientific formula that I have developed over years of watching football that allow me to accurately predict which QBs will be sucessful and which will not be.

1: Never trust a Heisman winning QB

2: Never trust an Oklahoma Sooners QB

3: Never trust a USC QB

4: UCLA QBs are okay.

I would love Rosen, but honestly if it looks like we can trade down to the mid to late 1st round and get a group of picks in return and take a guy like Lock, I wouldn't hate it. Would be able to bring Eli back next year and there would be no huge push to start the rookie QB, unlike if we picked Rosen.

I've seen Rosen quite a bit. He's pretty good. His issue is he can't stay on the field though, and I worry with the beating he'll take in the NFL that will remain the case in his career.

I haven't seen enough of Darnold or Lamar Jackson yet.

Baker Mayfield is okay. I didn't think he was anything special.

What about the Giants signing Cousins and either taking Barkley or trading down for extra picks and draft some linemen? I'm not in love with Cousins by any stretch, but he is more than servicable.

The price is prohibitive.... I dont think the Giants would do Eli dirty like that.

Get your next franchise qb now... groom him behind Eli for a year or 2 and call it a day
