Giants add three more players

The Football Giants’ roster swelled by three this week, with the team adding wide receivers Kadron Boone and Donte Foster and defensive end Ishaq Williams on Monday.

Undrafted from LSU two years ago, Boone joined Philadelphia as a rookie before being released, eventually finding a place on St. Louis’ practice squad. He signed a reserve deal with Indianapolis, but was waived the following May. He is yet to appear in a professional contest, but had eight touchdowns in 51 games at school alongside former teammate Odell Beckham Jr.

Foster went undrafted out of Ohio University two years ago, since then playing on three practice squads, in Minnesota, San Diego, and Dallas. He’s never played in a regular season NFL game, but has 37 yards on four catches in exhibition competition and had 21 touchdowns on 2,170 yards at school.

A native of Brooklyn, Ishaq Williams has not played football since the 2013 season at school, dismissed by Notre Dame the following year after accusations of academic dishonesty. He played 11 games at the outside linebacker position in his final season. The year before, he played the same position in all 13 games for the Irish, who qualified for the national championship, recording 22 tackles and 3.5 for loss.

We wouldn't draft Laremy Tunsil who was caught on camera smoking mj and yet we brought in 2 undrafted free agents, one who was accused of rape and now a guy thrown out of school.

Laremy Tunsil!

Well...ROI, UDFA is a much less risk. A first rounder on a possible Dumpster fire is a big risk.

A guy with a troubled past has a past that doesnt diminish because of lower draft position. These sort of things just boggle the mind.

By the way, we knew all about will hill and christian peter before we signed them. Both were worse than tunsil.

A guy with a troubled past that you bring in undrafted isn't the risk that a 1st round draft pick is.

You sign a 1st round draft pick to a 4 year contract, for example, Ereck Flowers contract he signed was 4 years $14mil with an $8.7mil signing bonus, Ishaq Williams contract is 3 years $1.6mil. No signing bonus, pretty sure zero guaranteed money.

Huge difference in risk there.

Not necessarily.... they have to fill the roster somehow.

Given the choice between somebody with a bad past that could possibly play, and somebody with a clean past who can't possibly play, the former is the obvious choice.

And for the record, I was never happy with spending a draft pick on Christian Peter.

I couldn't care less about roster filler though.

Again, draft position isnt the issue, it is having a variable tolerance on bad behavior.

It would be just as easy to not bring those guys in, correct?.

I thought it was risk/reward.

So who is the rapist and the guy who was thrown out of school? I know for a fact Ishaq was just kicked off the football team but was allowed to continue attending Notre Dame.
