Coincidence?

When it comes to rest, the schedule-makers sure didn't do the Giants any favors.

Big Blue faces the worst rest differential in the league in 2017 by a wide margin, according to ESPN. The Giants have a net total of -22 rest days before games compared to their opponents over the course of the season. According to the study, the Lions have the next worst rest differential at -12.

The Giants' net total is so low because they face four opponents (Broncos, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs) who are coming off of their bye week. The Giants will also be coming off of their bye week when they face the Rams.

The lack of rest compared to opponents, along with an extensive travel schedule that includes four trips to the West, will be an obstacle for Ben McAdoo and company to overcome as the Giants seek to return to the postseason after going 11-5 in 2016.

Meh, the other team coming off a bye week can be a positive too. We've never been great coming off a bye.

It's the short weeks + road game that are the real disadvantage.

We used to suck after the bye week.. but that's no longer the case. I think it's still fishy how the schedule is done..

I remember the year we finished 4-12, I predicted 6-10. The GMB was livid. "You're no real fan!" "Why don't you just go root for the Eagles then!"

I said, "Listen guys, we lose every week after a bye, so that's one loss. We also lose to scrambling QBs every time, and we play the Falcons once and Eagles twice. There's four losses. We have three prime time games, and we always lose in prime time. That's seven losses. Then we always lose at least one game to a terrible team, so that's eight, and we'll lose to Dallas twice.

Turns out we lost 12 that season.
