Good article on the defensive retooling.

On paper - I think the defense looks strong and should be very competitive. Replacing Fewell with Spags should be huge if the team can quickly grasp the new system.

I feel that our line is going to be good - younger, more athletic guys coming in. I feel good about our linebackers and even our safeties. My only concern is CB...which will be good as long as both Prince and Rodgers-Cromartie can stay healthy all year. If one of those two go down, I see some problems.

Hopefully we have a good year in which key players stay healthy and the younger new guys surprise.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... the Giants need a LOT to go right to reach .500 this year, and it starts with strength and conditioning. It's not impossible, but I'm definitely not holding my breath.

I think Spags can do more with less. I look at DaMontre Moores stats - according to PFF, he was ranked #7 in terms of pass rush productivity.....and yet only saw 230 snaps. Not sure what Fewell was missing that the rest of the fans watching Kiwi saw. Felt bad watching Kiwi get run into the ground when it was clear he was only suited to be a reserve player last season.

Agreed 100%. If the Giants are once again the most banged up team in the NFL, they have almost no chance of staying with the Cowboys and/or Eagles. If that's the case, then Coughlin is likely gone, and the S&C staff with him.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but nothing in the past 5 years gives me any confidence about injuries. I expect the Giants to be decimated and out of the playoff hunt by Thanksgiving.

You just have to hope that the injury thing turns itself around as we have been hit hard the last several seasons. I'd like to look at it like we are due for a relatively healthy one this year.

I think the Giants have made good decisions in player personnel the last several seasons, and I think it will come to fruition with a winning season this year as long as we aren't devastated on the injury front like I said.

As far as defensively, very excited for year 2 with Kennard. I don't expect much out of Beason, but if he can be a player it's a bonus. JPP needs to have a monster year, and he is capable of that. Hankins of course, and the secondary... could be the best in the NFC East and maybe the entire NFC outside of Seattle and maybe Arizona.

I think Moore breaks out this year.

I'm kind of anxious to see how Landon Collins does. He says is life-long idol was Sean Taylor and that he patterns his game after him. That would be something if he's anywhere near that.

Also anxious to see how Bromley has come along. He's added weight and muscle and has worked out with JPP during the offseason getting pointers from him.

And Moore has also put on weight and muscle.

And Cooper Taylor is finally healthy and I'm curious to see if he can hold on to the starting position.

The health of the team is everything this year. We can't keep losing starters for the season and picking up street players off other teams' practice squad or those who've been out of the game because they are "has beens".

BBV has a good writeup on who's to blame for the Giants' injury woes: http://www.bigblueview.com/2015/6/4/8726069/new-york-giants-injuries-problem-is-obvious-solution-is-not
