Allen Bradford - Does anyone know anything about this guy?

Allen Bradford is a member of the NY Giants. The Giants snatched him up last year when Seattle was forced to waive him to make room for newly acquired TE Kellen Davis on September 11, 2013. Bradford was a standout RB in high school and had moments of glory at USC (under coach Pete Carroll) when he had a career-high 147 yards on 15 carries (9.8 yards per carry) with 2 TDs (2 and 43 yards) against Oregon State to earn Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week honors. He was listed among the top 10 RB's in the draft on some boards.

He was drafted in the 6th round by Tampa Bay in 2011, but didn't make the team's final cut and Seattle (under newly hired head coach Pete Carroll, who knew Bradford well from his college days) picked him up off waivers and decided to try and turn him into a linebacker because of his size and strength. He excelled on special teams, but never had the opportunity to see the field as a linebacker. Then last year, the Giants snatched him up after De'Rel Scott went down. He played 10 games as a Giant recording five tackles, all on special teams.

The Giants signed him through 2015 and their goal was to have him compete with Herzlich, but very soon after, we picked up Jon Beason so Bradford only got to play on ST's. Bradford never got much of a chance to learn the playbook so he was relegated to ST's only. Now he finally has a chance to learn the system before the season starts and he's on the same page as everyone else because of the new offensive coordinator. It will be interesting to see if Ben McAdoo sees something in him worthy of keeping.

Anyway...he's 5'11" and 242 lbs - He ran the 40 in 4.53 on his pro-day and is a natural "bruising" running back.

Personally, I don't even remember us picking him up nor do I recall ever hearing his name last year during games. Does anyone know anything about this guy or is simply camp fodder to be cut?
