Giants trading Goodson and signing David Mayo.

Good move. I like that DG continually churns the bottom of the roster, and now we're getting something back for a guy who can't stay on the field.

LBs are a worrisome group though. With Goodson gone, there isn't a man left we can count on to finish a tackle.

My bet is if someone gets hurt, a Carlock or that other LB on the PS get called up.

Hopefully next year, with the cap space and the more than 10 draft picks, we get one or two capable LBs on this team.

I'm not encouraged by replacing Goodson with Mayo. It's not a step up, just a sidestep.

I don't think Goodson was ever going to see week 1 anyways.

He was next to Russell on guys to get let go on the roster, atleast they get some compensation for him.

Keep in mind Beal to IR freed up the room for Mayo.

Goodson was just going to be wavied.

Interesting to me how Carlock was handled this preseason after his breakout. Some games, no snaps. Against the Patriots he got a lot of playing time, but he always seemed to be rushing against extra blockers and was easily handled. Now, he's on the practice squad... it all feels a little Victor Cruzy to me.

Martin, ogletree, Davis, and Golden are not a bad linebacker unit, at all. Im not sure what the criticisms are here. All relatively young guys; ogletree was a turnover machine.

More like the same as usual. Carter is going to have show something this year as a starter. Ximines has to produce as a situational pass rusher.

I'm fairly high on Ogletree, but everyone else has something to prove.

Don't forget Carter. If he's a 10+ sack guy, this is a playoff team.

Every now and then we see a flash, but he's just thinking way too hard out there, he plays slow.

That was the scouting report on him in college. Freakish athlete and traits, but inability to translate it on the field. Underachiever. He'll probably be an average starter/backup most of his career. As a full time starter, maybe 4-6 sacks per year in a 3-4 alignment.
