The mechanics were iffy at best, bit of a hitch, footwork was sloppy on the 7 step and a few time on the out pattern he threw off the back foot. It's just that usually under the shorts/tshirt/dome scenario these guys mecahnics and throws are better, especially guys that are moving up the charts as quickly as he has. What I remember though from the past few years is that none of these things were even spoken about a few years ago with ELI and BEN(Rivers did have that hitch)and what I am starting to wonder is if Cutler is as good as Leinart and Young as some say. I think there's a good chance he goes 2nd overall to the Saints. since Eli Manning is from New Orleans, and his father made his living getting the shit kicked out of him in Black and Gold, we should return the favor to the New Orlean faithful and set up a package deal involving Eli Manning in trade for there position in this years 2006 NFL draft... to entice the perinal losing Saints, i would throw in another former first rounder William Joseph...at the #2 position, i would then trade down for multiple picks...yes i know, everyone is panicing that we do not have a defined #1 QB... during FA we pick up a solid NFL Vet...maybe even lure Brett Farve to NY for the next 2/3 seasons...we then, with the use of our additional draft picks, select a QB, not necessarily with our FIRST pick, but one of our top 3...our first 2 picks should be OLB, followed by DT...then a QB...followed by a S/CB...the rest can be used as the FO deems necessary... we should be making arrangements to expidite Eli Manning and Wiliam Joseph as a draft day package out of NY ASAP...Eli is a weak armed non-aggressive QB...he lacks football skill, but more importantly lacks desire to succeed in a stressful setting...let him and his "Easy" attitude lamb-bast in New Orleans, where the franchise and the fan is a lot less expectant... Right now Accorsi must feel like a fool for taking a weak-armed, inaccurate passer like Eli instead of waiting for a Big Ben or Jay Cutler. I agree that Eli's "who cares" attitude on the sidelines would fit well in a city that goes by the nickname "Big Easy". There were a few throws where he took a relatively long windup but his arm strength was definitely among the best in the group. As for the long delivery I think that becomes more of an issue when you have a QB that doesn't have the arm strength of a guy like Cutler. He did demonstrate that he doesn't need the windup to get some oomph on his throws. I don't see how anybody could knock Cutler's performance. I came away with a better opinion of him than I previously had. Brodie Croyle on the other hand was unimpressive in my eyes. I thought his footwork was real sloppy. HOUND, you have been around the block quiet a few times to know by now that Giant fans feel the need to put down the play of every other QB, whether it be Professional or College to try to validate Giligans lack of skill... Steve McNair is a man, and has the qualities that Giant fans want in there QB...he wrestles defenders to the ground as they attempt to sack him, Gilligan runs and slides like he is trying to escape Goldberg and slide under the bottom rope... That would be nice, a QB who stands tall in the pocket, willing to take that hit, willing and able to throw that ball downfield..................unlike some skinny pussy wearing #10, who cringes at the first sign of pressure.
