Are you ready for the start of the 2016 football season!

It's agony waiting for real football news and watching the games. The draft will be the climax of the off season after the half spurt one during free agency. Then it's another drought until the pre-season games. Baseball kind of fills the void, but my Yankees haven't exactly kept my on the edge of my seat lately.

It's OK, fellow Sportswrathians. It's OK. There's plenty of room on the Bill Cowher bandwagon, and I won't let your naysaying now affect your spot on the bus in the future! When we have another 7-9 season, I'll be sure there's room for you guys!

Are you ready for injuries this year! Are you ready for a midseason slump! Are you ready for sub-average O-line play! Are you ready for shitty linebackers!

Are you ready... for a mediocre draft of guys filled with "potential!"

I'm not! I'm not wasting my time this year... I'm already looking forward to 2016! The Bill Cowher bandwagon is warming up!

Maybe we will sign RG3 to be Cowher's slash QB

I think Cowher's more the Tebow type.

Right? It doesn't matter who his QB is... he can go to the playoffs with Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart, and Tommy Maddox!

Glad to see you're both coming around to my way of thinking. I'll be sure to save you some front-row spots on the bandwagon!

Nice! That's one hell of a coaching tree (minus Tim Lewis, of course)! I forgot how awesome everyone is who comes through Cowher's system and what an eye he has for coaching talent. You forgot about Mike Tomlin, though... that guy's got a ring too!

This should seal it for everyone. Cowher's the man!

Are you really trying to tell me Cowher had any influence on Lebeau and Capers coaching career.

lol what.

Both of them were coaching defense before Cowher was even playing the game.

And Tomlin never served under Cowher, he was an outside hire.

Seph this is JackStroud level stuff lol.

Yeah, my point was that the DCs were more responsible for the success than Cowher.

They always are though. The main responsibility of a manager is to hire good managers under him/her. What is Coughlins coaching tree looking like?

I could argue that a smart head coach would hire a DC qualified to do well, but not so qualified to overtake the very head coach who was hiring him. Being cautious not to hire your replacement so to speak.
