So they are either going QB (Rosen, Mayfield, whoever) or Barkley.

Unless Gettleman wants to make a big splash and finds some team in the 20s who will trade a kings ransom for pick #2, there is really no other choice besides these two things at the second spot in the draft.

The nightmare scenario is Darnold stays in and the Shits take Rosen. Mayfield reminds me a lot of Drew Brees though and I'd be happy with him, but I have to admit I don't watch much college ball and I'm only going by his highlight reel.

I'd have no problem with the Giants going Barkley, Gettleman likes to build a teams running game.

Take a signal caller the year after.

I was originally thinking that too but I read an article that pointed out that Barkley's salary is on the upper end of veteran RBs if we draft him in that slot. Not saying I'd be totally opposed but it definitely made me think twice.

The 2nd overall pick, hopefully, comes once every 15 years. Giants have to take a QB in the 1st. They could trade down and take a 2nd teir QB this year and hope it works out, but passing on a QB this year in the hopes of finding one next year would be a mistake imo. Rosen is the guy, a lot of teams looking for QBs this year, I think there will be a lot of trades at the top end of the draft and 3 qbs will probably go in the top 10, maybe

Browns, Giants, Broncos, and Jets are all probably looking at QBs with the Colts and Browns (2 picks in top 5) in a position to trade with other teams possibly looking for a QB (Dolphins, Skins, Cards).

I'm very luke warm on Darnold and Rosen (Darnold since he's somewhat error prone, and Rosen since he's had some injuries), but I think you go QB with the pick. Personally I prefer Rosen based on what I've seen so far, hoping he can stay healthy...so we also need to put a capable OL in front of him.

New head coach is going to want his find own QB. It's going to be tricky when they bench Eli for the new guy it will piss off some fans, media and former players, but it has to happen and for that reason I wouldn't even bring Eli back especially at his high price tag. Darnold is not NFL ready, but would learn how to fix his mechanics and read defenses from an NFL QB coach more than what he would learn going back to USC. Rosen is the most pro ready and I think ultimately ends up #1

Given the choice, it's QB and it's not even close. I'd take a QB, DE, OT, LB all long before a RB this year, trading down if necessary.

Further, I wouldn't put Indy out of the QB conversation either. Luck has been injury prone and this latest one was uglier than they initially let on. Last I read, there were serious debates as to his 2018 availability. If true, that's approaching 2 years of no football...that gets risky as hell. Picking at 3...they may want an insurance policy too,

Given Eli and Webb...I have to wonder if the smart move isn't to trade down and let someone grab one of these QBs this year and get a shit ton of picks in return.

They already have their insurance policy in Jacoby Brissett. They'll go OL or RB I think.

Good luck finding one with the 18th pick...

Most QBs taken in the first round are busts anyways with maybe one having a career lasting more than five years.

And the whole horsecrap about "It's easier to find one in the top five" is nonsense.

And just going 7-9 (which is likely the Giants finish aor worse) will probably pput them around pick 12 or 13.

Don't let the Jets fuck up that stat you got up there... I can think of Manning, Rivers, and Rothlisburger... Luck... and Goff and Wentz as of late... The Jets picking Sanchez... well that's the fucking Jets.

And I can think of Mariota, Winston, Tennenhill, Quinn, Manzel, RG3, Weeden, Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, Tebow, Freeman, Sanchez, Russell, Young, Leinhart, Cutler, Leftwitch, Boller, Carr, Harrington, Pennington, Couch, Leaf, Smith, the list goes on and on, and these are just first round QBs.

Sorry Nas, you simply cant say a top 10/5 QB will make it in the NFL, the anomaly being 2004.

I know this sounds a bit crazy but .....

I'm hoping we keep Eli for 2 more years ( don't draft a QB at all this year )

Trade down for multiple picks

Fix the bloody O line , get a decent linebacker and a RB

Look I can see this.. but the chance to get your franchise QB doesn't come around often... besides Eli hasn't been lighting up anyway and only getting older...
