gateb
i bet johan's gonna get blame for this too. two big outings in philly, two lights out ballgames.
Taylorized56
It would be nice if our hitters would give Johan some run support. 0-4 his last 6 starts with a 2.48 era. Unbelievable.

Although Johan is not to blame if you think that was a lights out performance I suggest you either watch more baseball or do some research on great pitching performances. Its great to see that baseball has gotten to the point where 2 runs in 8 innings is now lights out.

Its great to see that baseball has gotten to the point where 2 runs in 8 innings is now lights out. The man has only gotten 11 runs of offense in his last six starts. He has a valid point. And yes, 2 runs in 8 innings, I wouldn't term "lights out", but it's pretty damn good. He had only thrown 95 pitches and Manuel could've used him in the 9th. I don't know what it is about managers never letting a guy throw a complete game anymore. But Duaner has take care of business there, and more importantly, this team needs to support Johan. It baffles me how we can score as many runs as we did the night before and then lay an egg against a rook. I think this team relaxes when Johan is on the mound or something. RandolphScott
8 innings and 2 runs on a team that is most likey going to have back to back to back MVP's. I'd say thats a pretty lights out performance, but hey..what the fuck do I know?

I am sorry, but he did not pitch GREAT. He pitched well, a very very good performance. He also gave back the lead, again not a big one but a lead nonetheless. A great performance or "lights out" as you said would have resulted in a CG 2-0 or 2-1 Mets win. You did not watch the game HUH? Well then you missed Gary Cohen comment in the 2nd inning its time that "Johan pitches better than the opponent no matter what the situation, that is what an ace has to do sometimes". I guess my standards are low too at this point because its clear this is not what he is.

How about as Cohen stated "Johan outpitching the competition" for once? Just a thought. Nice game though and I think Manuel taking him out has more to do with not wanting to see Johan get the loss then his team winning the game. BTW if Willie did that people would be all over him. SO I think Manuel takes a hit there.

jranieli
I love to bash the hitters, especially with Beltran at .261 but this is twice in three days the pen has given up the winning run.

This team has hitters? You are correct about the pen, but why the fuck is Muniz in there a gew nights ago in a tie game? Problem is this, Philly has too much offense for our shitty pen to deal with.
