Wang looks to keep Yanks rolling

Tampa Bay (8-12) at New York (10-8), 7:05 p.m. ET

By Mark Feinsand / MLB.com

The Yankees got off to a good start against the Devil Rays on Tuesday, hammering Tampa Bay in a decisive 9-1 win. On Wednesday, New York will try to make it four wins in a row overall, hosting the Rays in the second of three games at Yankee Stadium.

Tampa Bay played without five of its regulars on Tuesday, and only Carl Crawford is scheduled to be back in the lineup on Wednesday.

"They're beat up a little; they have five guys missing," said manager Joe Torre. "It's a break for us and tough on them, because that's the meat of what they do."

Chien-Ming Wang will take the mound for the Yankees, looking for his first career victory against the Devil Rays in the Bronx.

Yankees starters have won each of the last three games, as Shawn Chacon, Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina have combined to allow three runs over 21 innings.

Wang did not have much success against Tampa Bay during his rookie season, going 1-3 with a 6.94 ERA in four starts. The Devil Rays hit .337 against Wang, tagging him for 33 hits in 23 1/3 innings. Both of Wang's losses at Yankee Stadium in 2005 came against the Devil Rays.

Pitching matchup

TB: RHP Seth McClung (1-3, 10.90 ERA)

McClung has never started at Yankee Stadium; he allowed seven runs in 5 1/3 innings in only start vs. New York.

NYY: RHP Chien-Ming Wang (1-1, 5.48 ERA)

The Yankees are 2-2 in Wang's starts, averaging 6.8 runs per game.

Player to watch

McClung hasn't had an easy time against the Bombers, as the 10 players he has faced have hit a collective .385 against him. Alex Rodriguez, Johnny Damon, Bernie Williams and Robinson Cano have each homered against McClung.

It's pretty sad when the guy who is pitching against us had an ERA over 10, walks the lead off batter in every inning thus far, is pitching a no hitter.

Lucky fucking catch! :TD:

So...did the Yankees decide that they are not going to play baseball today?
