Jamon Brown.

Everything you guys are saying about Collins is true but I dont think hes going to be very expensive to retain either

It's all going to come down to his agent.

If Collins realizes his worth then he'll take a fair contract, something in the 6 to 7 million a year range.

His agent however will get a bug in his ear that his probowl year deserves a 10+ million dollar a year contract.

Who do you build around in the secondary and I say build because everyone else in the secondary could be (and most likely) gone at the end of the season and you wouldn't notice except Jenkins. Landon Collins is a helluva player in any generation and a team captain. He will be re-signed because he wasn't traded during the fire sale.

You guys are ready to throw Jamon Brown over $40 million based on half a season of play if he makes it through the season?

You don't build around any of them.

Look at the Oline. Not a single starter from last year and they are better for it.

Secondary will be the same Collins doesn't deserve a contract based on his play at safety, at LB though he's a good player.

Collins is gone if he thinks this team will pay him because he simply isn't worth it on a bottom of the league defense.

Yeah, I just dont think most of the guys to build around are currently on the roster. You have Barkley and Beckham. On defense you have your BJ Hill and Dalvin Tomlinson...and maybe a couple of the young and fast LBs.

Collins will get burned by tight ends at linebacker too. Hes cheaper as a strong safety and guys like telvin smith get away with being 215 at linebacker because they can cover. If the agent plays hardball let him test the market and come back. he wont approach earl thomas money and thats only ten mil a year

Webbs shown to have flashes of talent, and won't cost much to keep around.

Beal is waiting on IR and all reports were he was a second round talent who didn't qualify for the draft.

Outside of that though the rest of the secondary could hut the open market for all I care.

These young guys on the line are good and need time. I see a line with hill tomlinson and mcintosh for the next 2 years.

The landon collins hate on here now is laughable. Not his best year but the guy can flat out play. Lets just can everyone who isnt perfect. We would be atupid to let him walk and the franchise tag is there and i think they will get him with that.

BJ Hill is really the only positive I take away from this current defense. Tomlinson is okay, but needs better players around him. Ogletree is fine too I guess.

There is plenty of good on this defense including Collins... when you have weak DE's like we have, that tends to compromise the entire unit... Having said that... unless we land Bosa in the draft, I think we go with that OT from Alabama..

I wouldn't pay Collins more than $10mm per year. If we can get him for like 4 years $40 million tops, I'd take him. Beyond that, let him walk.

That's the way I feel about him too. He's a good but limited player who's going to want to be paid like the player from 2016.

I'd gladly take him back at a reasonable price but he's not a good cover safety.
