Barkley should regularly be getting 20-25 touches a game.

However today he was averaging under 3 yards a carry and it was obvious from the first run play he was going to have to fight for every yard.

Some of those plays there was a defender in the running lane before the Oline even got to it.

This Oline needs to be blown up in the off season. I could honestly only see two guys being on the team next year 1) Hernendez and 2) Solder only because of his cap hit if the Giants cut him, which they 100% should.

Doesnt help that no team really fears this passing game, but I don't blame them with the running game being the only threat.

I dont buy that if we just ran more yada yada.... we all know the OL sucks and unlike us... teams actually plan for our best players...

They still run out of shotgun and run delays an awful lot for having a shoddy oline. I would be running a lot more I formation and running off tackle, personally.

You mean like all NFL teams do?

lol

I-formation is run when you can actually push teams off the ball because of the obvious formation to run out of, with the low likelihood you are gonna run a pass/PA.

Not to mention the FB position is practically dead in the NFL now from the lack of I-form/Strong plays.

So then run out of singleback. It makes no sense to carry a fb if theyre never on the field. It makes no sense to pass 40 times when youre QB cant make pre snap reads and has no time to make a second read. Oh and Goalline situations should be three straight runs from inside the 5

But you cant run either.

How is this so hard to understand that the Giants are bottom of the league in both run and pass blocking?

It's not like magically one will be better than the other week to week.

I dont' know....you think at this point they might just be preserving the kids legs?

RBs get only some many hits in a career before they break down....why put mileage on this for this shit.

C.W agon

Well the refrain is always, ....gives us the best chance to win, youd think theyd throw less than 40 times throughout a one score game.

  • 3 weeks later...

Fitzpatrick has almost thrown for more touchdowns than Manning in a single game. And Winston is much younger and much more mobile. These guys are both upgrades over Manning. And I know that the common refrain is that no one can succeed with a poor offensive line. But its not true, QBs are regularly successful with poor offensive lines. Manning isnt the only quarterback that faces a pass rush every week. He is, however, one of the only ones that cant score any points.
