“Once they get back to losing, the stadium will be back empty,” Flowers told NJ Advance Media. “That’s how I feel about them.”

“I don’t care for Giants fans,” he said. “They feel about me how I feel about dentists. I don’t care for this place much. I would’ve loved to have come out of here with a W, but it’s all good."

I wonder if there was bad blood between Flowers and old team mates? I can see him hating on the fans, but why wish ill will on your old team mates?

Anyhow, the skins looked like total trash. Last thing Flowers should be worrying about is our win/lose record.

I remember the year that he and Bobby Hart spent the offseason together they were both criticized for only hanging with each other and not with the rest of the O-linemen.

Redskins G Ereck Flowers on his time with the Giants: "Being here for me was just toxic. On the field, off the field. It doesn’t fit me."

What was toxic? "Everything. You name it, everything. Not teammates. I liked my teammates in my time there. I think they had my back."

More Flowers on his time with the Giants: "I just didn’t like it. It’s not for me. Everybody can’t fit everywhere."

On his new team: "I think I found so much more energy, on and off the field. I’m really enjoying it."

Fuck Flowers. Hope he has a decent career but with us he was just as big a first round bust as was Eli Apple

i personally hope he continues to have a terrible career but remains on the Deadskins for many years to come as a human turnstile and penalty machine

I feel this way too.... I am really not sure why. Maybe it was just being hopeful for Flowers to perform to his draft position and him falling so short, maybe it is him being on the Redskins, I just can never root for any player on any NFC East teams

  • 4 years later...

I still get shell shocked whenever I hear someone talk about some draft prospect and their only positive is "well he's a strong nasty player"

Flowers was the perfect example of a college player who was never coached to play the position just rely on his size and strength.

Can't do that in the big leagues.

Yes... you are so right.  Technique is all.  When half of your games are against what should be division II guys 50 lbs lighter than you... that big strong downhill flex can work.  However in the NFL everyone is big, strong and nasty... and/or has a lot of fortitude.  Also I think I am like you.  Been watching for 56 years since 1968 and I have a quick trigger.  If guys don't work out for a team in 2-3 years I am ready to move on.  It is a business and things are changing all of the time.  We have to adapt to the times.
